have a question - my first - be gentle

brother n law gave me a 1985 Honda ATC 250 ES. No seat, headlight, battery, front tire or gear shifter. I got it to turn over a couple of times. I would really like to get it running again. How much is TOO much to spend on it? Help...

First, welcome aboard ;)

You are the only person to judge whether you are spending too much on your trike. For all those parts im sure it wont cost you an arm and a leg.
Just get it going and forget the money you paid to get it going. :-D

Well I have seen a few nice looking/ good running 250es's on Ebay go for over $1700.00 .. So as long as you dont spend more than that putting it back together your doing good. But you should not have to spend anywhere near that much to get it ride-able.. And once your done wrenching on it your not going to want to part with it.

I know this because I spent just over a year putting my 85 250es BigRed back together. And now it's time to have fun riding it.

Thank you bigredmat you hit it right on the mark cocerning cost.i put alot of $ in my trike but have no $ amount on it, because some things are worth more than money.
