Hey Guys,

Just read through this thread http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthread.php/117381-The-490Z-the-saga-continues...-Round-3!/page5 and was wandering what the significance of knurling the crank would be. Scroll down to the second post on the page for the pic.

Throws more oil around, I'm ASSuming.

I was always told it was for oil retention, so it slings the oil around better, but not totally sure.

id say its for churning the air fuel mixture or making turbulence in the case atleast. being its a 2 stroke there shouldnt be any oil on the crank other than whats in the fuel. not sure if the large holes are stock or not but id have to assume they're not and that they are for lightening the crank as well as increasing the volume of the crankcase to allow for more air fuel.
