Its pretty srtaight forward. Which clutch are you changing, the centrifigual or the main? See if you can find a manual, just to give a quick read. Im sure the job will be a breeze, and good luck!

If its the centrifigul clutch do what I did. Get 1 from a 4 wheeler. Its a direct replacement and a bit more beefier. Ive had mine in for a year now and zero problems. When I got my 84 dx225 it would slowly move forward while revving up, and then lunge forward. If I remember correctly I used 1 from a 1990 bear tracker 250. The only thing that was different was the lock washer for the nut was different, but you could make the original work. Its also so much easier to find a cheap clutch for an atv vs a dx225 atc. let me know if you have more questions. I found a good write up on here and was a little skeptical until I tried it.
It was also my 1st attempt at doing a clutch in an atv. Ive done the disk style before but not a centrifigul style. It was easy. I do recommend propping the 3 wheeler kinda on its side, (not completely) but put a cinder block or something under the right side tire to get it tipped a bit. After removing the side cover, study the internal parts a little bit before you take anything apart. This helped me alot. Also with the engine side cover off, snap a couple pictures. Once again, it was a pretty simple job and I was able to do it in about an hour or so.

I would say the centrifigul if it does the exact same thing mine did that I described. Ive never touched my other Disk style clutch in it. Id still get 1 from a bear tracker or a timberwolf tho as they are the exact same thing and alot easier to find for CHEAP. Probably like $25 to $40 for the whole assembly.

It's been a while, but I remember that there is a left-hand thread nut on the end of the crankshaft, but I don't recall if you need to take it off to get to the clutch or if it is behind the clutch hub. Keep your eye out for it if you run into a nut that won't come loose.

I dont remember on the left hand thread nut. I dont think there was for changing the clutch but I could be wrong. I would spray the clutch you are putting in with brake cleaner to get the clutch shoe dust off and maybe take steel wool or fine sand paper to the inside of the clutch drum to help get build up crud out of there.

I just did both. Make sure to replace the one way bearing in the primary with the new primary unit and all springs and plates in the secondary. There is a manual on here that you can locate. I followed that to the "T". Pretty easy job and she runs perfect.

I just looked them up, the houseing has the same part # aswell as the Nut has the same part # but the clutch it's self is dif, would this matter? I don't see why it would, the part would go in and fit, maybe feel dif as you ride the machine?

the clutch will fit. the ytm 200's and the ytm225's are almost identical motors, so "most" parts are interchangeable. the big differences are in the top end the cylinder won't swap from a 225 without boring the cases, and the head is different with the motor mount, also the shift shaft is different lengths, but they will swap.
