what would be needed to make a 200cc 4 stroke into a 250? could you bore the cylender and run a 250cc piston? bigger valves? porting? i mean the bw200 dosent have near as much ass like its larger brother. id like to know if at all possible if there is a way to do this?
also im assuming there is not a big bore kit for the bw's so i rulled that one out. unless im wrong?

I know some people have swapped the newer Yamaha TTR 225 engine into the Big Wheels because it's essentially the same engine as the 200, just with some newer components added to it. I wonder if you could swap the jug and piston from a 225 onto your BW. Here's a Craigslist ad with a TTR 225 swap.

u think they had to fab any motor brackets? or do you think they used the stock mounts from the 225?

I have 2 factory originals and one mostly-restored BW350. Not too long ago I picked up a Suzuki DR350 BW conversion. With my experience on 12 different 200's and 6 350's, you will never be satisfied with their power, regardless of displacement. The converted BW/DR is stronger and faster than any of my BW's.
The best way to get the most power out of a BW is to rebuild the 24-27 year-old motor. The bottom end is made for gnarly trails and steep grades. When people gripe about the motor, it's more likely the gearing that they don't like. I had a camo 350 that had a 44-tooth rear sprocket instead of a 37. It couldn't do more than 40mph but I took it up hills that no 3- or 4-wheeler could tackle. If you want speed and power with fat tires, buy my 2 BW parts bikes, a 350 or bigger project MX and build your own. I dare you! =)

Most of this bike is '90 Suzi DR350. I have a complete build sheet in pdf form for the deets. The complete rear jackshaft was taken from a BW200. The rear fender and exhaust are custom fab and aftermarket. The side covers are off in these pics since the exhaust side melted. New covers soon to be installed.
Needs: headlight, correct kickstand, shorter brake hose, exhaust heat shields.
I was clocked by a county sheriff friend at 80+ on dry pavement in 5th gear. Felt like 120! Insane power down low but 6th gear is just too scary to use.
My only caveat is the lack of electric start - kicking the trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro with such high comp is very tiring.

That conversion is cool!
I had a BW200 for a while. You're right about the gearing - the thing was geared to climb trees.

This is a cool build from the guy who made my DR350 BW. Very clean, very well-built. $2600 is steep, but money well-spent.

you could use a complete beartracker/timberwolf jug,but there is no high compression piston for those,or you could go with a ytm225 jug and use a 10:25.1 piston.top motor mount should all be the same.
