Hi everyone, Recently while out driving i noticed my machine was cutting in and out. I pulled it in the garage to try messing with the air/fuel mixture screw and i noticed it did not have one.... my machine must of rattled it loose sense I had it turned out so far. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what one I need? (parts number) What places sell them(or if i have to buy online for it) AND is it cheaper to buy a new carb for 20 bucks?

Thanks everyone

Cody R.

I was going to suggest the new carb. It'll probably be cheaper.

Ok and are there any stores that sell new carbs? I'm going to the cities tomorrow so it would make things so much easy to pick them up in person.

Most of the carb rebuild kits(less than $20) on ebay contain new mixture screws. If your carb is original I would suggest rebuilding it before buying a new aftermarket carb, but that's just my two cents.

I prefer the new aftermarket carbs rather than rebuilding the 25+ year old OEM ones. In my experience, sometimes no matter how much work you put into the original one, they still won't tune right. Toss on one of those $30 knock-offs and forget about it.

Agreed... You can only rebuild them so much, but a sloppy slide or other problems can't be fixed.

I guess my experience has been just the opposite. Too many times the knock-off is close to original but not close enough and you end up with little quirks that the original didn't have. But at $30 it's not a big deal especially if your original is worn out.

Thats usually because the knock offs don't have the correct or good jets in them, swap over the jets from your stock carb or even get new stock jets and install them, it makes a world of difference.
