Ok, I have gotten a Reply from Mike.
Here is the shortened version of what happened and his condition.
A few days ago he was working on a 14' ladder and fell off. He don't remember anything about that day. They have determined he fell onto his steel workbench and then head first onto the floor. He was knocked out and was found aprox 2hrs later. He spend 4 days in ICU the Trama team told him he could be dead.
He has multiple serious injuries but in his words:
I will be OK I need to just take some time to heal up so i can get back to doing what i love . If you want to pass along to the other members that i say thank you from the bottom of my heart and as soon as i can i will be back at it .
thanks bud
Mike
My take on the whole situation: He will take a while to heal. Knowing what I know now, I can only Pray and Hope that he heals 100%. he needs all our prayers. I told him to let me / us know if he needs anything. I told him that I / we ( 3WW ) would do what ever we could to help if needed.
As I get updates I will let you know.

Damn this sucks, get well soon Mike.

Of all the address's I have in my note books, I did not record Mikes.
I traced the time frame right down to October 2011 when Koozie, Mike, and myself all got together on a reproduction project (OEM coloured 83/84 250R slider) that ended up great for every one.
Koozie got 2 or 3 repop'd ones, I got a very nice mold and Mike got the OEM NOS one Koozie let me use.
But of all the addresses/info I do some times miss writing down a few and Mikes was one of them :(
I want to send a get well card. I am sure many of us would like to pen something out + lick a stamp but need address.

I am working on getting his snail mail address for those of you who would like to send a Get Well Card. It sooo much more personal than text, calls or Email. If / when I get it I will follow his wishes on whether it's given out privately, posted publicly or kept private.
I emailed him a link to this thread as well.

This is sad news. I work close to Mikes shop and home and stop in to chat with him from time to time. It's apways impressive in his shop. Just a super down to earth guy with a love for trikes. Makes me sad to hear this. I was going to stop in last week and wish him a happy thanksgiving but did not have the time. I will make sure to be aware of whats going on in his shop. His dad works with him as well on a part time basis and will chat with him as soon as I see him.
Get well soon Mike!

Hope you pull through fine Mike. Those falls as we get older seem to do more damage.
I'm not fond of climbing ladders these days. I fell 30' when I was 18 and it STILL hurts!!

Hey Guys, I am finally able to figure out how to get back on the forum to post. I just wanted to thank all of you for your kind words it means the world to me .
This entire event has opened my eyes to just how short life can be and how fast it can be taken from us . Like all of you how many times have we been up on ladders 1000s of times in my life and one freak thing happened and lights out .
I dont remember any of that day but they think i fell 14-16 feet in my shop and came down head first I fractured both sides of my skull and my right side went through my temporal bone and fractured all the way down through my neck and right through my right ear drum I have no hearing in my right ear the trauma team thinks because of the bleeding on my brain this is the major cause so until that goes away they cant operate or do anything , I broke 3 ribs in my back and seperated my shoulder and have limited movement in both wrists . as much as i got beat up I am so thankfull this is all that happened I was knocked out for nearly 2 hours on my shop floor and bled out of my ears and how i dont know I woke up and found my phone and called my wife and she sent the firefighters to come get me . I have alot of short term memory loss and i find myself having to think about things alot to process but I think it will come back in time.
If it was up to me i would be back in my shop now but I know it will take some time . thank god for ebay I have tons of good parts etc i can sell to pay the bills and this should keep me busy for a month or so .
again thank you all , you guys are the best
Mike

Every year around this time I get nervous because I get on the roof to hang Christmas lights. I do it for my kids to see but sometimes I feel it's not worth risking my neck

He is getting better, slowly. Not 100%, but luckily no long term issues, aside from what he has has always had (thats a joke). He is getting better, just slowly. Maybe he will post on here and give us an update.

Hey Guys,
thought i would post up an update. I am doing very well in fact alot better than they had told me . I still have very little hearing out of my right ear but in time that will get better. my broken ribs are healing up I dont feel the pain as much in my back, I am in physical theropy for my wrists and they are doing real good as well as my shoulder. been slowly poking around at the shop and getting back into the swing of things , I do get massive headaches here and there and I get real tired mid day but they said because of the brain injury this will happen for a while but get better over time . I am off limits with anything fun for a while riding, sking etc I cant take any chances of wacking my head again till all the fractures heal up real good but besides that I think i will be good . Thanks again for all the support and emails . I will be back at the shop next week and start turning out some more restorations. below is a picture my sister took 3 days after the accident when they were discharging me out of the ICU to a regular room , I never saw this till the other day I am still bleeding out of my ears and still lights out I dont remember anything 2 weeks after the accident, makes me realize just how lucky I was . It just wasnt my time thanks guys and im back at it

So glad to hear about your progress. I had a similar fall, broke my arm, elbow and shoulder. 6 surgeries and 4 years to get healed up, but had I turned 90 degrees in the air, I would have landed on my head. I have no right elbow, weakness, and pain, but an accident like this really makes you appreciate all that you have and how lucky you were it wasn't worse. Hope you heal up good as new to turn out more of the fine work you do!
