im rebuilding my 200x and am installing a wiseco 10.5 to 1 comp piston and webcamshaft cam and having it ported. it has dg exhaust but is missing the carburetor completely, i figured now would be a good time to install a larger carb but which carb should i use? and is the powroll crankshaft worth the money? its 260 alone plus installation$$$ i ride dunes at w.f.o throttle:naughty:

i haev not seen a ton of power gains withthe stroker setup over the non in these motors. you haev a LOT more work to do before your ready for a stroker setup on top of that. special port and polised head with CNC valve jobs and larger valves. Special WEB springs, hardended rockers and more. Doen right a top end built for performance will run about $1100 in parts and labor.
the wiseco 12:1 piston will give you the biggest gain. I run one in nearly every ATC i own. you jsut have to run super unleaded.
carb, I use the ebay mikuni 26mm-28mm carbs for like $40 shopped on average. You can try to mess with the 30mm but the low end has bogging issues with you slam the throttle no mater how you tune it. it just is too big a carb unless you then have a stroker, and large aftermarket full exhaust system as well as a fully setup, then you will see good numbers.
good luck on the build.

sounds like a fortune to do the crankshaft! id use the 12:1 piston but know better, i ride sand so its wide open the entire time and i dont want to mess with race gas. i also failed to mention the motor is an 83200e big red motor that we fabbed to fit my x chasis (good bit of work but electic start and auto clutch!:naughty:) dont see any difference in this motor and the x though?

I have the Powroll crank with a wiesco 10.5:1 piston in my x, an xr carb, hand built exhaust by this guy, and a ported head also done by yours truly, with a mega cycle cam. It runs good, one hell of a trail machine, and reliable to boot. Oh and it has no problem sustaining a lot of rpms. There's a lot of other cheaper ways to build the same amount of power though...

I agree and the 83-85 200X is not a good motor for 12:1 anyhow (kicker gear); Unless you run it 4X a year..............

The 200x motor would be better to do these mods, because of the manual hand clutch. The auto clutches are great, but simply dont last as long as the manual clutch before they start slipping, and just cant handle the abuse. You can really get the power where you need it with the hand clutch also. For the kicker issue, I would install the upgraded kicker parts, or back-cut gear, and then install a 185/200s, or m valve cover with the decompression lever. Flip it up, and it kicks over like a dream, and bolts right on, no mods at all. The 200x should have came with this. --- Jon.

well the big red motor was in but now is out to get the upgrades, i found a cheapo zoom zoom 26mm carb on ebay for 28$ free shipping incl. im going with webcams mid cam, 10.5 to 1 piston unless yall think the 12.1 would be better? its got pull and electric start, i run wide open throttle in the dunes so i kinda figured the lower compression would be better. i also picked up a dg full exhaust hope this setup wheelies my ass up banshee hill, thats the plan!
