A guy in the process of becoming a member had a question about axle swaps and I didn't want to give it away until I had some other members opinions.

I've been focused on my 350X's.

Anyhow, he has an 86 200X; He also has an 84 or 85 extended nice axle.

I know the 83/84 250R fits because I have had one in and it fit.

I believe that the 83/84 and 85 200X axles fit also.

I believe all those axles fit AND line up properly. I know the seals had to be changed to a different size, but other than that, they fit.

Give the low down please if you are familiar with theses axles/sprocket size and alignment of the sprocket and disc brake.

He thanks you all very much for helping out as he cannot post.

id try looking at the different size bearings. honda used mostly the same ID of bearings but the OD differed from different models. if you have only ones Id get some. 83/84 250r will work in 86/87 200x. deathman did it a long time ago and i saw the bike in person. might want to search his name and see what comes up, somthing will im 99% sure of it. 3rd gen R in a 2nd gen 200x i have not heard of yet, it may work but you need to shim things and space things to get it to really work im sure. I cant give anymore help then that with out playing with the parts.

I have a 82 250r axle in a 84 250r swingarm it fits well. I havent mounted it up yet and rode it . The rear bearings are the same . I think the seals on the 86-87 200x is bigger where the rotor/sprocket hub rides. I know the 83-85 200x and 82 250r axles are direct swaps for each other. As well as the 83-84 250r and 86-87 200x .I think it should work.Heres a pic.159346

I still believe the 83/84/85 axles will all work; I just need someone to confirm this.

And THANK YOU again.....
