I just bought a Johnson Bandito frame from eBay, It arrived yesterday, I think I did okay on it, It has a Supertrapp exhaust system on the frame and a front fork that came with the bike. I have a 1976 ATC90 engine, a 1979,and 1985 ATC110 motor to choice from to go in the frame. I also have Honda ATC90 tank and fenders and a 1983 and up fenders and gas tank to choice from. Anyone done a late model build on a Bandito chassis. I like the look of the 83-85 ATC110's. I know the rear ends are different on the 84-85 frames from the Bandito frame.

Here is a picture of the frame with out the fork on it. I,m not sure on the year of the frame or the engine size it was made for 110 or 90

Saw it on the bay. I'd say keep it old school.

I highly recommend the 85 CDI Motor, along with the 83+ Tank and Plastics. To me, it just makes a cool looking trike.

If you're not looking to highly modify the engine, the cdi 110 is fine. You just need to find somewhere to securely mount the cdi. Also, like you said, the later model rear bearing carrier and grab bar won't work, so you have to use the earlier stuff for that. You can use the later 185s/200s front forks to give you some front suspension if you have it as well. The head to frame mounts on the 90/110 engines are swappable, but once you lossen the top end nuts and bolts, you are better off changing all the top end gaskets an seals as they are often and and brittle and will leak. If you are going to use the 90 engine, I would recommend a new piston and rebore,a 125 aftermarket piston would be a nice addition as well as a slightly hotter cam and a DG exhaust would be a nice addition as well as a better intake filter. Those mods should pep that frame up real nice. Don't forget to make sure that your wheel bearings are good to go as well. Clean it up real nice and have fun. You will end up with a real nice little hot rod. Best of luck and take lots of pictures.

I had thought of getting a 185/200 front end for it. I do have a couple of DG exhaust new in the box, but the Supertrapp that came with it in really good shape. Its just dirty in the pictures with lite rust. These frames from California weather better out there than in Ohio.
The 125 piston for the 90 where do you get them, The ones I have seen are at DRATV are 104cc and 9.5 compression. I do have a couple of NOS Rocky 118cc stock Comp, piston and a 124 High compression piston for the 110 engines. Cams seam to be the hard thing to find for either engines. DRATV cam for the 90 isn't that much improvement over stock. There a lot cams on eBay but all look stock grind, Is there a secret source.

Yep I am the secret source  pm me with your wish list ...... and your right the largest you can go on the stock 90 cylinder is 108cc .
The dratv cam is no upgrade from stock or any of those ebay cams.

That's Cool. I'll be PMing you, I've been wanting to do a Bandito framed ATC for a while. I looked through the custom builds that I could find on this site. My frame is the ATC110 motor frame. I haven't try to install one of my engine into it.
I do have a question on the ATC90 cylinder/Jug verses the CT90 or ST90 cylinder. I think I read some where on this site that the ATC90 cylinder is different than the other 90 engine jugs. I may be wrong. My ATC engine was missing the Jug when i got it, someone was going to do top end job and lost interest, It came with a 1976 ATC90 I got a while back. I bought a Jug years ago for a ST90 I have, To do a big bore piston in it but never did.

The difference is the area were the head sits on the cylinder , the older model 90cc motors are smaller . The easy way to tell is the head gasket style , the newer copper head gaskets have notches for the alignment pins were the old style heads dont .

Thanks for all the help. I,m going to have to dig my 90 cylinder out of my minibike pile of parts to look at it. Than I need to get up in the attic of my garage to get all the ATC parts down to build the Bandito up. Anyone bought the 90 fenders off the guy one Ebay. I got the Headlight bucket for the 83-85 Head light from him and its nice repop.
