Ive had hundreds of trikes but Ive only had 1 250sx in my past and it was trashed. I found a beautiful 86 but its 300 miles away and at the top of my budget. I currently have 1 almost MINT 86 bigred an a real nice 85 bigred, but I have some cash burning a hole in my pocket and I found an 85 250sx thats fairly close to me for $900. I got him down to $800 but he wont budge anymore. What you guys think. I dont mind spending good money for a good machine as I have done MANY MANY TIMES. I guess that comes with all the freebies and next to nothing scores Ive also had. Just throwin this out there to see what kind of reaction I get. He says that it needs NOTHING.

I agree. 800 is a fair price if it needs nothing, but then again needing nothing to the average trike owner and needing nothing for us trike nuts is a little different.
Hard to tell from the pic, but does it have that flip back rack with the twist out chrome knobs securing the rack? Out of all the Sx's I've had I never had one with a rack, is that type of rack something special, or just the norm for the SX?

i live 30 miles from that bike and looked at it I wanted it pretty bad but. I would only offer 400 bucks for it. the shifter shaft is bent you have to pull up and down on the shifter to change gears because it sticks. that was the deal breaker for me. the gas tank is really rusty inside. all the rear swingarm bearings are really loose and the headlight shroud is trashed the brakes need work along with some other things. hope this helps

Wish I had asked this question earlier. It normally would have been an hr and 20 minute drive for me but with the crappy icy roads I spent 4 1/2hrs on the rd today to make the round trip. I WASNT HAPPY. I was very specific when I asked him this morning about the plastic and I kept getting over and over that all the plastic is really nice with no breaks. He informed me about the shift shaft but that didnt really bother me. After risking me life on the roads I got there to find a BIG DISSAPPOINTMENT. Headlight trashed as you mentioned, shifter had to be pulled up after every downshift, and the rear fenders were broken. I had him down to $700 before I left this morning and thought Id gamble on it but after him totally lying to me about the plastic I was done with him. I got about 20 miles away from his house and he called me back and said YOU CAN GET NEW FENDERS ON EBAY and that he said he would knock off $50. I laughed and said thanks for wasting my time. I GUESS ILL HAVE TO KEEP LOOKING.

I guess some peoples ready to ride definition is not like others.. I got shafted on a 250r I bought on ebay this summer so I am really cautious now LOL!

Thats too bad...Some people think junk atc's are worth gold...I always ask for close up pictures of all sides of the machine before I go look at it especially if its a good drive...
