Does anyone know why this happens, my battery stays charged and all. But at night when I have the headlight is on the lights fluctuate in certain RPM ranges. There's no rhyme or reason to it when it comes to the RPM's :wondering

I checked every wire I can think of back from the CDI cover thingie. The trike was always garage kept and has no corrosion on the wires.

The fluctuating lights drive me nuts at night. LOL

Have you measured the voltage with a meter to see if its actually jumping around? It could be as simple as a bad bulb or a loose socket connection up in the headlight, but does the taillight do it to? If its both lights and the actual voltage is fluctuating as read on a meter then i would suspect your rectifier/regulator is failing or there is a problem down in the stator.

Yeah it both lights front and tail. I will further investigate the rectifier/regulator and the stator. Can the stator be cleaned?

Try cleaning the electrical connections first. The regulator is probably fine, but the wire connectors to it may have traces of corrosion. The reason that you have a regulator is that the stator on the battery start models have a higher output that must be regulated. I experienced this first hand when I put a 185 harness on a 200e to get it running and noticed the headlight was REALLY bright, until the bulb burned out. Good thing that I did not burn out the CDI.

Thanks justenough I will do further investigations.
