Best is to clean the carb and get new gas.
Nip the last tiny bit off the spark plug wire so the cap has new copper to bite to.
that is, after checking for good compression, valve adjust etc.
Gas these days has a shelf life of a month or 2.
Best to find non ethanol gas if you can.
oh, and try the search key but most posts will recommend a good carb cleaning.
Please keep us posted.
Does it run better with the choke on a little?
Is it new to you?
Do you know when it ever ran correctly?

Sounds like it just needs a good carb cleaning and rebuild, a little adjustment, and you should be good.

Agreeing with KBonly on this one sounds like your just needing fresh gas and a carb cleaning.

Just throwing this out there. After carb cleaner I like to blow every orifice of the carb out with 120lbs with the compressor. Something I didn't have when I was a kid wrenching and it works great. :w00t:
