3rd annual Algonquin West ATV rally..any takers?? Weekend of April 28/2013..

So just calling out to the other Ontario trike members to once again see if there are any takers..

My brother, Darcy and I have attended the last two years and had a amazing time.

An ATV club sponsored poker run that starts and ends at the Cottage/Motel on the east side of Sand Lake just outside Kearney, Ontario. About 3 hours north of Toronto..

The full day event is about 100km..trails range from straight and fast running, rocky terrain, some muddy stretches and lots of beautiful scenery..some 400+ riders last year. We were the only two on trikes..we made celebrity status!!

I'd love to get some other members up there to enjoy the weekend with us..I can help with accomodation arrangements for anyone that might like to attend.

The plan is to drive up there Thursday night and return Sunday..

BTW, it will not interfere with May 1, Ganny open!!!

Doug,, where do you stay? (Hotel,cabins, do we need to reserve??),,,not realy R territory up there!!! but might join you on my EX!! With a couple of buddie's that are dying to get muddy on there Quads!! Looks like the perfect place.

This is the place we stay..the cottages are about $150 per night and can accomodate 2-4 guys. They also have motel rooms that run about $50 per night and could take 2. Reserve now for best choice..Darcy and I pick a cottage up near the lake every year.

It is also the start/finish point for the event..located right on the beautiful Sand Lake. It's great to stay there because they serve a great meal then you can move straight back to your cottage/room and start the party. Since the event in dry the only one allowed to enjoy a cold one after the event are people staying at the resort.

You'll of course need registration and proof of insurance for your trike..also you should register for the event here:

They only allow about 400 machines and it is a capacity crowd every time..recommend you buy in advance.

It'd be great to see other trikers up there for the event..they love our old machines. Darcy and I are like celebs when we go..

I'm taking both my project BR and my 350X..I'll ride both over the course of the weekend, but I'm not sure which will be the main event.

Darcy really wants me to run my 250ES since he will be riding his. Should be a pretty cool head to head..

What is your weapon of choice? You said you didn't think it's 'R' country..well there is a lot of open trail and opportunity to get your 'ringy-dingy' on. As long as your machine doesn't mind the tough stuff too, most guys wouldn't want to put that much 'seasoning' in there 250Rs however..

I will be taking both my 350x and 250ES..I'm eager to try my skills with the manual clutch on some of this tougher terrain at least on Friday which my brother and I will using for play day.

For the main event on Saturday, he really wants my to ride the BR however..this is his 1st year there on his own 250ES and he's excited for us to do some 'tete a tete' riding for the poker run..

Just bring whatever fits under your azz..it's be great!

So Darcy came down my way this weekend and we put some TLC into his new 250ES..not that is needed anything major, just servicing!

Then on Sunday a couple hours riding to shake down..the trikes are perfect and ready to ride.

So in 13 daysand counting, Darcy, I and the trikes will be in Kearney..see you there to anyone able to make it. And for those of you unable..sorry you'll miss it!
