View Full Version : 200s hard to start when cold
I just put a new carb from eBay on my 200s. It runs and idles like a champ after I got it adjusted but it hates to start when it's cold. I've tried full choke, half choke and no choke but it just doesn't want to start without 20 pulls. Is there anything I can do to help this? I can't find any info about hooking up the decompression cable at the recoil and my shoulder is wrecked from trying to start this, so any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

is it lacking fuel. just wondering if the carb is not pumping fuel easily. is there a leak in the line. how are the lines. do you have a fuel filter. pull it 10 times and check the plug for fuel.
how is the sparkplug and spark?
I'm having fuel issues, mostly due to a super rusty tank.
its been -20c here and my 200m starts easily with choke. my truck needs plenty of gas and pumping throtle.
thatz my 7centz
it's getting fuel and the fuel lines are new as well as a new fuelfilter. It's getting good spark and the fuel tank is very clean. I pulled the plug out and cleaned it but still couldn't get it to start. When it's warmed up it starts first pull every time and runs and idles really good, it's just getting it fired up initially. There must be something I'm overlooking.

mines the exact same way i bout mine off a man who owns a bike repair shop and he had just replaced the carb as well... i looked around the forum and found a couple thread's about the same problem i think my contributes to the rusty gas tank as well but idk for sure.... some people say its normal some dont!
