I have a few questions around the 86-87 honda 125 trans with reverse. First off I do not have one of these but may be looking for a bottom end only. I have downloaded the manual and see that it is cable operated to go into reverse much like the big reds. From what I can see and read the reverse gear is internal and there is no hi low range just 5 gears with 1st being a "creeper" gear. (also scoured through the site search) Does anyone have any pics of how the external mechanism on the case is integrated into the case? Is it formed into the case or a threaded attachment?Left or right case? Has anyone ever tried putting this gearing and mechanism into any bigger cases? Any one ever have the cases on one of these split open? (I'm sure someone has and I'm looking for you:naughty:) Looking outside the box on this one and may be barking up a tree on this but curious just the same. Pic shows reverse "parts". Any and all help is appreciated.

Just may hafta come over and have a look at those Bruce. Not sure if those gears could be adapted into a atc case though.

Just for the knowledge:
The 85-86 TRX125's are lay down motors that are simular to the 84-85 ATC125m's. Some parts inner change, but some parts do not.
The 87-88 TRX125's are upright motors the same as 86-87 ATC125m's. These motors swap out with no problems. I think 99% of the parts are the same ( if not all of them ).

Why dont you tell Howdy what your trying to do? He might know, lol. I know and its not a direct swap and its not a 125.

It's possible that enough of the 1st gen style tranny will work for the purpose. I personally don't know that much on them ( 1st gen's ). I have a few of the 2nd gen's though. ;)
