Front suspension is a yt175. As far as frame and engine, can't tell with that pic. Non stock seat cover. Looks like a home made rear grab bar as well. The yt175 front end is a bolt on, so it could be a 125. Without seeing if there is a fuel pump or not, 175 had a fuel pump, the 125 did not. Also 175 had a complete plastic tank under the outer cover, the 125 only had a 1/2 tank.

Awesome thanks. I'm trying to snag it for $200. It is a 2 stroke I know for sure. They gave me a vin but of course Yamaha only goes 10 years back. Its 20-011307 if anyone knows how to look that up. Seems like these parts are harder to find than my 84 Yamahauler!!

Well Im just waiting for the people to get back to me about it. After checking the VIN(just on the fork) its a '83 175. The issue I have is the son(56years old) contacted me about it, because I posted an add on craigslist about anyone having a Yamaha sitting around and wanted to part with. Well, apparently it was "rebuilt" a few years back and the seat was replaced and also new tires were put on it. All of this was done for the mother because its actually hers. Well she never rode it and it has sat for quite awhile. Not sure how long but I dont want to spend a huge chunk of money on something thats not going to be able to run when I show up to get it. The son says she is partial of it and isnt just going to give it away after I offered $200. He went on to say the tires and seat cost around $300 themselves, which could be true if they were brand new. I didn't tell him that fyi. So then I offered $300 as my top. Honestly I know its probably worth maybe another hundred but I don't have the funds to do such being a student and Mr. Mom. Looking at the pics its a lot better shape than my 200EL was when I got it from my dad. Who knows?! Maybe I'll get it maybe I won't.

looking at the grab bar in the pic I think they put foam around it for what ever reason
