Ytm 200 problem

My ytm 200 was running fine all day. I went back out to ride it and when I pulled the pull starter it just pulls in and out freely. It will roll in neutral but not at all when in gear. What could be the problem. I would appreciate any advice.

I would try pulling the pull start cover and making sure all the pieces are working correctly for example the pawl is what grabs the gear to start it and disengages when you release the rope. I would start there since its only 5 or 6 screws.

how hot did you get it before stopping for the day, also what type of motor oil are you using? you are talking about the trike in gear or are you talking about the pull start? if pull start see my rebuild video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBhtlWumtlI
if you are talking about the trikes transmission then first check the clutch tensioner nut and see if it needs to be adjusted

Is the spring in the recoil broken?

The pawls on the pull start could be striped of you pulled on it while the bike was running..
