Does this plate behind the mechanical seal come out?..I want to replace the oil seal behind it, I am guessing this plate comes out and will come with the new mechanical seal.....yes/no?

Yes and you can get an upgraded kit for it. If you have a revised manual it tells you about it.

The mechanical seal and cup are bonded together...normally. From the back side, take a socket that fits in to the cup and knock out the old cup. To install, place a socket on the front side of the cup and drive it in. Be sure the clutch cover is placed firmly on a sterdy surface. You want a socket thats big enough for the mechanical seal to fit in to and the rim of the socket should fit the rim of the cup. Two or three taps of the hammer is all it takes. Be gentle, it doesnt take much to distort the cup. Remember, the mechanical seal will be attached to the cup. Be sure to replace the ceramic seal on the back side of the impeller. It comes with the kit. The ceramic seal is white glove meaning handle it with your bare hands as little as possible. Once in the impeller, wipe it down with rubbing alcohol. If you don't, it will gall over time. Oh, the new cup you will see has a band of friction sealant on it. Driving it in will activate the sealant.
