Well basically i bought an 85 atc 125m from my neighbor yesterday for 55 bucks. Problem is, is that the transmission locked up on him a few years ago. He kept the motor in the frame, tore both the left and right cases off and through the parts in a bucket, never found what was wrong and gave up. So, now its my problem, i dont know what the symptoms were like when it locked up. i was thinking put it back to gether, see what it does, to see how it acts, then start from there? And also, it seems the frame as a nice ole bend in it. if you look at the front of it from a ways back, you can see the front tire is A lot closer to the rear left tire then the right...? also, forks seem to be a bit bent...? Help? suggestions? I want to get it running ASAP for the cheapest way possible.

Start from the motor... If the motor is shot then its not worth putting money into the frame and forks. I would slap it all back together, get it running, and see whats wrong.
Also, I have had two 85 125's now that acted like the trans was locked up when it was the rear end. Take the chain off, make sure the rear axle spins freely. If it does then it was probably in the sub-trans, the part with the hi-low range select. Those gears jam up sometimes. Also check the shift drum stopper, if thats broken it will cause all kinds of weirdness as it wont stay in gear.
Where you at in MN??

Northern part, about 30 minutes north of Bemidji. Biggest problem is, i need gaskets, and the guy wasnt thinking when he took it apart, he through all the parts in a bucket, that had dirt in the bottum...? and almost every piece has rust on it....

Gasket kits are available online easy enough, as for rust better start cleaning parts!

Take a look at the picture with the rear view of it, picture is taken lined up with the frame, see how cockeyed the rear axle is... I really want a 125m for a small utility trike, put a front and rear rack on it, use it for hunting, trapping, burning ditches, everything. I cant really get the evaporust or the gaskets because im so poor and owe money to my dad for my 200x

Your frame probably looks like this.
This is one of my 84 125m's.

Also... Get yourself an 185s/200s and do this front end conversion. You'll want to get the All Balls steering stem bearing kit too.

Where on the frame is that picture taken from?

Right by the seat release in the middle of the frame.
I plan to machine a couple steel plates to weld in and sandwich the frame right there and make it stronger. I'm just going to use my good runner for now.
