View Full Version : big red fender mud flap removal ?

got an es big red front fender.. i got the mud flap bolts out but am not having any luck with what looks like plastic pop rivets on the outsides..... i was thinking i could push the center nub down and out but im not having any luck ? anyone have any tips on this besides cutting them ?:wondering

Those are the rectangular steel nuts that never come out ?
Even drilling them, you heat up the fender and it goes bye bye.
I drill them out and then I make them with a piece of aluminum 316. Unfortunately you probably don't own milling machine and a lathe to make them up.
I have never have had much luck with those. sometimes I use a dremel slowly and remove the rectangular portion, Don't get them too hot!!

no, i got those metal ones out.. im talking about the ones that look like pop rivet's on the very outsides of the mud flap..

Didnt know there were anything besides those square head bolts, I had to slowly grind them off my 250 when I swapping the fender out.
