So a little tire and rim experimenting on the ES led to this great setup..
I wanted the same diameter tire as stock (or close anyway), but wanted a thinner tire/rim profile.
So I ordered up a new set from Rocky Mountain that I just think kicks ass and wanted to share for others to try.
4/110 ITP Steel Wheel 12x7 2.0 + 5.0 Black
Part # 1087260063
$43.99
Kenda Bear Claw ATV Tire 26x9-12
Part # 1054490013
$64.99
The offset it perfect on the machine and the improvement to handling is tremendous!!
Check out the pics..

Combined with the Mudshark 26x12x12 rear tires and the same rim on the back this thing is the nastiest mud trike I've ever had.

Wow! I really like that look! May have to mimic that in the future. Especially if increases handling. Thanks for letting in on this one.:beer

Yeah, it's a bit of a work in progress..getting a steel tank and some other improvements.
Not the best looking at present, except for the tires.

There is no 'side roll' or 'slip' at all..the hill climbing is unreal and the mud this thing can crawl thru makes is hard for my 4x4 quad to keep up with.
At high speed the wandering steering is gone and the best part is that the thinner steering tire makes it far easier to handle on heavily rutted ATV trails..
On my previous 250ES (pic below) I used to feel I was fighting the machine..

As awesome as this setup was I often felt like that big fat front tire was steering me, instead of the other way around.
This new setup is much better! Now I just want to 'pretty it up' a bit...

How does going to the bigger rims /smaller side wall hurt the ride of the bike ?? I've been thinking about doing this too

that rim/tire really gives that Red the look of it being newer then it is too if you really look at it! its kinda what you expect to see on the bike if it was new today~

Looks great. Also what about turning the front tire around?? So it looks more correct. Is it in the direction it is for a reason?? Does it not turn well the other way?

Thanks, but I have a donor trike with decent tank and other parts to make mine better..nice tank for sure, I appreciate the offer.

It's definitely a firmer ride, I wouldn't make these mods to a non-suspension trike..it'd be a back breaker for sure. But in this case on a utility trike it's no harsher than my Fourtrax..

Lots of people think that on a power wheels the 'V' tread should be pointing in the other direction, I'm one of them..
But as a non-powered steering tire the direction of force rules are not involved and the 'V' direction is null. The steering performance is amazing this way..
I find it does seem to steer a bit better than my 250SX which I setup with the similar arrangement to this ES but with the 'V' in the conventional direction..maybe it's in my head or in the differences in the two trikes, maybe not.

Oh yeah for sure Bill, the BR is fun but I like the lighter trike for most of my riding!

a few questions for you. Im also wanting to do this and Ive read a wheel chart guide but I suck at following directions. Is the front wheel and the rear wheel the EXACT same that you used? Do you have any clearance issues running 26's and I seen you mentioned in another post that you dont like your plastic tank. You wanna sell it reasonably??? THANKS
