162664They look oldschool... purhaps thats one of the reasons I got em? Definitely like the protection they offer vs some plastic junk.:)162663

160463665346 this is the item number on EBay. I would gladly take another pic close up for you but my ATC is in Dallas and I'm in Seattle. Glad you like em. They are really nice. I wrote this guy an email and asked him for his best price and his lowest shipping cost. As I recall I paid about $60 total.

I got a set just like that from Princess Auto a couple of years ago... $15+ shipping. Can't find them on their website, maybe they don't offer them anymore.

I looked on Princess and couldn't find them. I don't think they carry them anymore. $15 would have been a great deal.

Thanks djm, i wanted guards that would block the wind in new england winter riding but also wanted somethimg study. I think with these guards i could jist use a piece of plastic or rubber cut to sort of an oval shape and zip tie em to the guards for winter riding. Too cheesy? Anyway, thanks for the post!

I'm sure you could use rubber or plastic. Some nice gloves purhaps? I will tell you that my daughter somehow managed to flip the trike up side down in the mud. She wasn't hurt thank goodness, but the guards did their job and with the full weight of the bike on them they survived unscathed.

I'm glad your daughter didn't get hurt! Yeah, gloves are a must around here, and sometimes thats not enough. I sometimes ride in minus o° weather and added wind protection is needed. Also looking to get heated grips. Enough of my bs though!

the ones from princess auto are about what you would expect for 15.00. they are a step above tinfoil in duribility! My wife had a slight mishap, and the thing tore right apart. glad she didnt cut herself on the jagged shrapnel!! They do look cool!! I hope yours are beefier material for what ya paid. I cant see the tiny pic!

I have been running the bark busters with the Maier plastics on my BR... Love them. Block the wind nicely, and heavy duty as all get out...

Oh man those look really great! I considered the plastic ones- but in TX the heat allows us to avoid the freezing wind for most of the year. Plus I own a nice pair of skiing gloves if its that cold. But I must say yours look nice.
