Hi everyone , I have acquired a 300 kit for my 1982 atc250r , I would like to go up on carb size which isn't a prob as I'm goin for a new flat slide mikuni, instead of the oe 27mm Klein , does any body know if there is a head to carb manifold greater in bore size that will fit my trike, sure this is a known part that people used? I'm goin to use a 32mm TMX and retain its good midrange power band , possibly I guess I will have to make a custom manifold . Cheers everyone .

I'd do at least a 34mm.

you can buy the intake for a fl350 which will fit the 300 jug... you also might be able to find a used mossburger intake... but if your only going up to like a 32-34 mm carb, then just heat up your existing boot & stretch it over the carb- I commend doing this off the bike for the first time for ease... the intake boots for the 83-84 r may be a bit larger than your 1st gen as they came factory with bigger carbs... I have an 84 r & had a 38mm airstryker fit in my factory boot

Ok then that's good to know , I didn't want to ruin my existing boot ! Handy to know they will stretch . I am reluctant to go to big with the carb did urs run well with the 38mm on or did it compapramise the mid range much, handy to know this lost knowledge as its trial and error for me over here ! Any info is really handy to know .

I'm pretty sure there's a 34mm on my 300. It runs great top to bottom.
