Hi all. I'm a new member this is actually the first forum I've ever joined. So thanks to all the people who put this together so everyone can exchange info and ideas. I'm starting a 250sx rebuild and am having problems finding aftermarket exhaust for it. If anyone knows of any or any others that will work I do appreciate the help. I will post some pics soon

Welcome.
I just missed a full oem exhaust on ebay for like 60 bucks.

Be prepared to change carb jets if you go aftermarket on the exhaust.
I try to stay stock so I can't really give you any suggestions.
The search key works great and will get you lots of info in one click.

You're also Very lucky to live in the same town as one of our sx guru master members.

These are my 3. I do my own powder coating except for frames and swingers but I have a guy at I-35 and SE 25th (Coat Pro) who handles that. I also have replated hardware and some of the oddball small parts. Tri Again is right about the aftermarket exhaust, you will need to rejet and the aftermarket exhausts are loud. I would stay with the stock exhaust.

Thanks guys. I will get in touch with you Jim when I get to that point in my build and I have seen several OEM exhaust on eBay lately was just trying to find other options. Y'all are probably right about the noise level and carb issues not being worth it.

Not to dissuade, but I had a cobra on an sx that was nothing but trouble.
Needed to be repacked all the time which blew fiberglass sparkle clouds the size of a house.
AND I used the correct stuff from the bike shop.

Found myself wearing earmuffs on that one so my ears wouldn't riiing.
Changing carb jets on an sx is a 1/2 day project for me and lucky IF the first change works.

The noise cops at riding places can give tickets with their noise meters and not sure about
forest service approved spark arresters for the aftermkt stuff.

wow, sorry, that all sounded negative.

Maybe there IS a good aftermkt exhaust.
Be careful with the head studs and start oiling them now.
There has to be some good info about replacement studs before they break.
Maybe stainless with elongated brass nuts to cover the threads?
Best to check on that first.
