New guy here from NC just scooped me a almost mint 1986 Tri-Z out of a guys basement. He bought it brand new when he got married in 86'. I'm the second owner with the Certificate or Origin and owners manual which I thought was pretty cool! No tears in the seat, cracked plastics, stickers are great too. The guy claimed it still had the original tires on it. I'll probably get it up on my lift next week and go through it real it good. But right now it starts right up 2nd or 3rd kick (its about 34 here right now)

WOW UNBELIEVABLE, I think you better go to church on Sunday and give thanks cause you just hit the jackpot no matter what you paid. You must realize that if you ride it you'll devalue it. Just park it in your living room and find a cheap beater to flog. Better yet my phone number is 949-675-6...... lol.

Thanks!! I actually had already agreed on a price before seeing it and planned on just flipping the trike for a profit. But when he showed up and it was in such good shape, then he pulled the Certificate of Origin out I about fell out... I had to tell the wife theres no way I could sell it now. I called the dealership it was bought new from which is still in business today and ordered an air filter and expansion chamber springs. Thats about all I've seen it needs so far without getting it on my lift.

Oh man. I am SO JEALOUS!!!

Great find. This just shows... They are still out there. Waiting to be found. Original owner 86 tri-z. Original tires. Everything looks oem. Missing the black fork valve caps. But thats it. I dont even see any paint fade on the frame or motor. So, it couldn't have been ridden too much. Also. The 86 service manual is pretty cool. I looked for the fork oil capacity online, and I couldnt find anyone with an 86 manual.

Are those the original grips?

The grips should be original bc he didn't seem like he did anything to it, or even ride it that much he said he may have rode it like 20 times or so since he bought it. He did say it did give him a good toss going up a hill one time. I figure that was enough to keep him off it...Idk...

Here ya go Rigaman :)

Well got it up on the lift today, I'm going to start going through it real good and clean everything out really well, and see how close to mint I can get it. (ignore the my buddy in the background...lol) We had some Ducati guys come in today and base line dyno a couple race bikes so I didnt get a chance to mess it with much. Hopefully before the end of the week I can get a few dyno pull videos up for you guys and some more pictures.

Back together...Its about as clean as its going to get without tearing it all the way down.....I keep going back and fourth on changing the bars out with some gold bars, and a gold D.I.D. chain, and just holding on to the stock parts.
