I'm having a hard time finding a front caliper/hose/master for my 350x. I was wondering if a 200x setup would fit. I have found a few of those on ebay. I've tried looking here but nothing... Maybe you folks know of a caliper that would work?
Also, I want to show you guys my project I have been working on this winter, just wondering the best place to post it. It was a 85 250es that had a bent front tripple tree so I decided to throw a 350x front end on it and I love it. Just been spending a little here and there and the last things I need now are the two rear fenders (maier to match the trunk and front) and try to find them side covers.... But I would love to get the front brakes working soon too.
Thanks
Kevin

Hmm, I have never had a problem finding a 350x front brake set up myself ( I know of a stash of parts ). I don't think anything else will bolt up. But then when I have spares I generally don't try other stuff.

The 350x was a dual piston cup caliper. Im not sure if they would work, but I know the 85/86R also used a dual cup caliper. Hopefully someone can confirm, or you can check the caliper part number on bikebandit or servicehonda.com and see if they are the same.

Almost positive the caliper is the same the mounting bracket is different. Seems like I've had this discussion before not too long ago.
I've interchanged the master before. Hoses are different lengths, they won't swap.

200x caliper is on the opposite side of the front wheel. Retarded set up IMO, when the 350x looks so much better.

Master:
Just use a TRX 400EX or Banshee part or any other ATV master cylinder with the same diameter piston - 1/2" as I recall. It's cast into the master cylinder. The piston diameter is important.
Hose:
You can't find a NOS one. Sometimes repros show up here or on eBay. They're beautiful but they're pricey. I recover mine with plastic fridge water line then covered with clear heat shrink and seal the ends of the clear with some black heat shrink. I stole the idea from somebody else. This is only good for a hose that is fine other than the plastic outer shell and I cannot repro the silicone cone on the end.
This is the one I was thinking of - absolutely beautiful. Much nicer than mine...

Calipers:
No on the first gen 200X.
I don't know about 2nd gen 200X.
3rd gen 250R calipers are the same but the bracket is different. You need the 350X bracket.
Also, there are 2 different type of calipers - one with single pin for pads and no fins (generally an 86 piece) and one with 2 pins for pads and fins on the body (generally an 85 piece). I don't know if the brackets are the same. I don't think the date cutoffs are as distinct as 85 or 86, more like a running change during one of the model years.
And finally, some XRs also use the finned caliper. Just check pad applications. Something like:
XL600R 83,84,85,86,87
XR250R 84,85
XR500R 83,84
XL350R 84,85
XR350R 84
ATC250R 85
ATC350X 85
I did this eBay search and looks like there are some available on this route.
(xr600,xr500,xr350,xl350,xr250) caliper
I looked all this up a while back when I rebuilt my 85 350X.

I don't know why all I could come up with was rebuild kits. I'm gunna put a offer on the nicer one. Its expensive but worth it.

I'm in need of a front caliper for my 86 myself. Anyone know of some interchange parts from other bikes?
