i bought this atc-90 because it would not go into gear. got to looking at and there is a range selector i believe that is behind the pull cord. i seen it had a range lever below the pull cord case but the one behind the pull cord in broken so there is no lever. but the red arrow on the broken lever is in "N". What is this lever for and do they have two range selectors. Thanks for the help.. :wondering

i think it could be for reverse not 100% sure but if its on n its in netrul so thats probably why it wont go into gear

that is not the range selector by the starter. that is your gear indicator. should be white plastic piece on it with red indicator which points to N when in neutral and moves when you shift the shifter. there is a high low range box for the trans and that is what most commonly messes up. the transmisions on these rarely go bad and the hi/lo box gets stuck between hi and lo givin you neutal when you shif it with your foot. the hi lo box is the little box behind starter (closer to rear axle on side of engine) its a little oval box farthest back on motor on pull starter side. underneath there is a lever and on the side of box itself it should have arrows with h on one end and L on other. sometimes all you have to do is work the lever while rocking the bike and it will engage. if its froze up and wont move you will have to pull the cover and make sure the gears and everything looks ok. the lever is retained by an e clip, once you remove that you can slide the lever down and out of bike, wire wheel it, put a dab of grease on shaft and reassemble. good luck, let us know if you have any other trouble
