Just as the title says, I recently got an airfooler and I was trying to get some ideas as to what aftermarket parts are/were available. I also want to see what kind of airfoolers are here on the boards.

Let's try and keep this a picture thread with some description of the parts, if you plan on commenting please post a picture to go with it.

Here's a 11" mitchell rim for the 81/2 R, it looks like a cagiva rim, but I was informed they had 10" ones.

Very sweet bikes up there ^! I am in the process of rebuilding an 84R. The cylinder is at the machine shop as we speak for a bore. I have white plastics, red tank, Cobra pipe, 250r ported top end, 85R carb and front forks/front end. Also have 300 kit I was going to use, but needs new sleeve. I'll get some pics up when I get some of it. Keep up the good work guys, love seeing these foolers!

I also found this on my 83R, Says ARD on it, looks like a pvl, any info on these would be great.

Also, is the connector the same as the one Honda used?

There's 4 numbers engraved(stamped into the underside of the intake, I have seen 2 JP cylinders with 4 numbers stamped into them(dcreels tecate and also the guy out west with the 200 Tiger), so I think it maybe a JP jug too, but not sure.

Yea, it came together nice. I'm probably going to go with a SRP 83/4 front(if i Can find one) or a 85/6 R white fender. I think the front end is off an 85/6 R

Here's a white bros swingarm I have for the first gen, It looks like the calfab ones, but it has the round imprint on the top center plate. When are you starting your build? It looks like a good pile of parts.:naughty:

Man looks a lot like that calfab. I have a build thread on here progress is slow waiting to get my forks axle and frame back from being coated. Need to clean my swinger up and get some bearings coming! lol

TheBlueWale
12-30-2013, 06:59 PM
I'll have to check out the build, what gas tank and fenders are you going with?

Edit: The only dissapointment with both of our swingarms is that you can't run a 82 disc, but there has to be a way to stabilize the brake caliper and use a 82 axle and setup

90guy
12-30-2013, 07:02 PM
Going to try to fix the little dent in the original tank and get it painted white. Then for fenders going to wait for a bit to see if we can get an order for white maier fenders on the way. But if not prob some red maiers. Rocking a black frame with the terry cable forks black also.

I wonder if the same manufacture made these swing arms and people just slapped there brand on it. I know aluminum DG swing arms look like Cal Fab also. My Cal Fab has the same dimple as your White Bros. I've saw post of a Cal Fab arm that was cracking around the welds so mine sees limited use nowadays. http://i811.photobucket.com/albums/zz40/stroberts22/IMG_3390.jpg (http://s811.photobucket.com/user/stroberts22/media/IMG_3390.jpg.html)

TheBlueWale
12-30-2013, 07:34 PM
From what I have heard, Calfab Physically made the arms, but other companies slapped their decals on them. Did your swingarm come with any decals, maybe it's a white bros arm? I know the 82 arms had the small plate for the brake line and the double bolt area for the caliper.

Maybe 90guy's swingarm is a very early one w/o the dimple and the smaller plate for the brake drum stabilizer.

Man, I'm sad this thread petered out. I just bought an '84 yesterday with a bad top end. This will be my first sport trike I've owned, and I'm probably more excited to build this than I was putting a 300 fourtrax in my sx. Here's how she came to me, pretty much all original except for rear tires and bars. Front brake doesn't work and parking brake cable is snapped, then top end is bad like I said, but other than that it looks to be a decent rider.

http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u238/conbon575/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20150714_080428979.jpg

I'm betting a few of you noticed the tank cover right away like I did in the craigslist ad. Now I do intend to remove this cover as to not damage it. It has some staining and something frayed on the one corner, but appears to be pretty decent. If anybody here is interested in if send me a message, I would really be interested in trading it as partial payment towards an extended swingarm or a nice pipe. I'm probably also going to be selling the oem tank scoops, pipe/silencer, and intake/reeds/carb/airbox., if that gives you guys an idea of how I'm gonna build this bike. I'm probably just gonna build a psuedo-drag bike to have fun with at next years Trikefest, nothing too serious just a fun fast little bike. Here's more pics of tank cover

Anybody out there still like air foolers? Just rebuilt the 3rd gen forks I have on my '84 with shims and heavier oil along with new seals and bushings, and got a new front tire for my JH 10" front rim. Got a swinehart number plate for it too, need a 3rd gen fender now...

Wow, that thing is sick! Any details on the motor? That's the only white 2nd gen short track tank I've ever seen (and only like 4th tank total including mine), I love it with those white low pro fenders!
