The first public showing/unveiling of the Yamaha Tri Z resulted in it being STOLEN ! It was unveiled at the SCORE Off Road Show. Anaheim convention center in Ca... Where else?? lol. When the convention was over,,,someone rolled it out and took it ! True story. Yamaha Immediately offered a " no charges ,no questions " return of their bike! I don't know if they ever got it back.

Fact. I don't know it was ever published. But trust me.. it is true :) I don't think it was ever recovered.. But that I do NOT know for sure.

Yes, the same thing happened over here in Australia. Honda decided to do the worldwide release of the '87 ATC250R and 350X at the Sydney Motor Show.
I stole both of those and Honda were so peed off they never sold any just to teach the world a lesson.
I still have them but never rode them as I was scared. I will sell them if anyone is interested although I can't see why anyone would want one.

Caverider ,,cool. Where was this? ATV News,Dirt Wheels? Man,when these came in the mail. I read them like the Bible,memorized the,," So I thought" and retained it. Now,When I read an old Magazine I realize HOW much I missed and how little I retained. Makes me sick with myself. To Love it so much and know so little. Thanx for posting that !
