New to me BW200

[MRSOUND]

Picked up this 86 BW200e after pondering for a month and half. Smooth but different ride. Seems all there. Plastics are painted. New tires, fairly new drive chain fresh oil and air filter. Only thing I noticed is primary chain is noisy. I will have to check and see if there is adjustment there? Gripper seat cover, has a crack in front fender, & a chain guard off of who knows what but is not oem for this. Think I did ok at $500?

For $500 I'd certainly say you did pretty well.

Nice! I had a kick start only version for a while. Yours is much nicer than mine was.

Geared like a tractor. Would climb a wall.

If I recall correctly, the primary chain has two adjustment positions. There are cams or something at the swingarm pivot. Also, it's a #50 chain and the sprockets are BW specific. At least I had to buy them from Yamaha 15 years ago. I don't know enough about chains to understand why Yamaha chose a #50 instead of a 530.

Mine was worn enough to put a hole in the case which is why I got the whole thing free.

The rear chain and sprockets are standard Yamaha dirt bike fare and easy to find. That front one was a PITA.

wow thats a dandy for $500. I paid $400 for mine and it isnt in that good of shape. I hope like hell I get to go to trikefest this year so I can see all of them.

Does the pope trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro in the woods? Heck yeah!!! Ill probably take it a little easier this year on the alcohol consumption. I was there 4 nights and My buddy and I went through 5 30 packs of busch light and that case of Yeuenglin, plus some shine and apple pie. I dont really remember much of what happened. I do remember Raffa killing 2 birds with 1 stone at the river though....literally. LOL

Man BWs are showing up everywhere! I would have snagged that up for sure! They are fun bikes and will go about anywhere. Congrats on your purchase!

I'm anxious to get it on some rougher terrain and see what it can do. Plastics look better in the pics than than do in person but decent none the less. Believe it or not this the first 2 wheeled dirt bike I've owned. I've ridden friends but never had my own. Still have my first street bike, 78 honda cb550 four K, and 2012 HD road glide ultra is my current street caddy:D.

Regina - No idea how many are going to be there. they are adding up in the TF thread though. Kain who was along with Bruce got a fatcat too and planning on bringing it along! I have no problem with camping again. As of now planning on a day earlier this year....more riding time and socializing!

I got off work from June 17 to the 24. We were saying about a day earlier 2.. We have some newbes coming with us this year.. :naughty: One is Kelly on her 350X.. Thats going to be so cool seeing all the BW this year at TF..
