Tri z transmission swap

Hi I've a couple of engines in bits at the mo and going to build them up soon but th 86 casings are the best and I want to install the 5 speed into them. Is it possible to put the transmission in the better casings or are there differences? Also vice verser ?

One and the same, i have a 5 sp in a 86 motor sittin in the shop, just make sure to swap everything.

I aswell have a 5 speed in a 86 case. Make sure to use all all the 5 speed thrust washers. And shift drum.
