I was just woundering if a extended swingarms would be practical for for everyday riding in dunes and desert?

Yup. Just dont go +12 or something wacky

ya +6 is a safe bet. Anything over that makes the bike almost unridable in a traditional sense. I have run +6 on both my current 86R and my 300 kit-equiped 84 air cooler. Long enough to keep the front end down when you rip it but not too long that you cant wheelie either

Hope this isn't considered thread jacking, but thought since the subject was up...
I was considering doing just a +2 or +3 for my 85 250r. It only ever sees dunes (99.9% of the time) Would this be a noticeable difference? There are a lot of trails in the dunes where I ride as well as open sand with good sized hills. I just don't want a +6 or anything beyond that as I would like to keep my bike looking somewhat stock.

ya thats about what I was thinking +3 swing arm and maybe a +2 axle would fit my riding needs .

Yes, you will feel a significant difference with a +2 or +3
It's just a couple inches, but that couple inches makes all the difference... Or at least that's what she said
