Hello,
I just saw a Kawasaki KLT160 locally on Craigs List. Not that I need another trike, but heck, if the deal is right, it may be worth it.
I've always wanted to own one of these trikes. Can someone give me the good and bad on these?
Thanks,
IronBear :)

They are rare, but not especially desirable. Parts are hard to find. The plastics are particularly susceptible to sun fading and cracking. They are slow. The shaft drive saps a lot of power from the little 160cc mill. They have a backwards shift pattern which can be a pain in the butt at times. The one I have is cool to look at and it rides fine on smooth ground, but I have limited areas where I live that a hardtail can be ridden. If you want to buy a really nice example, probably one of the finer examples left in existence, I have been considering letting mine go for some time now. Nobody really seems interested in it though.

Everything fabio said is fairly accurate but don't let that stop you from being interested in one, they are great machines for what they are. Parts aren't that terrible to find unless you need something bigger like a nice tank or fenders. I'm not sure what kind of condition the one you are looking at is in or how much it costs but when they pop up around here they are usually in the $500-$700 range but they then sit on cl for quite a while if that tells you anything... The only time I have seen one actually sell quickly in that price range was one that someone had posted on cl for $500 and it looked like it just came off the showroom floor. If you are looking for a "deal" I would say it would definately have to be nice and under $500 to be worth it.

The guy is asking $450.00 for this one. I don't have much to go on but one picture. The tail light is cracked and I'm waiting for other pictures to arrive. If I can get it for $300.00 then I may pull the trigger, or, something in my garage to trade :)
