Alright this is a long story of childish actions and i learned a good lesson from this. So I used to me friends with a kid that goes to my school. We would literally hangout all the time at his barn, i would ride over on my zinger or my Honda xl125 Dirt Bike just about a mile away. We were friends for about a year or 2 but hey were in high school so we see and talk to each other every day. So usually we would all hangout in his barn because its the biggest and its heated and has couches etc. We would work on stuff etc and it was a blast. So this winter my zinger blew up when i was out riding on his land :O.. So i left the bike there and he told me just to put it in the corner and let it be until i can get it out. So i just said ok after the bore is done ill just rebuild it here and ride home. My dealership had to delay another 3 weeks so i told him id get it out of here. Hes always been cool with me but things change. So we get a week off in February so i told him id just get it out when i have a chance this week and that seemed cool. So i go there on monday and he just starts getting stupid saying get this POS out of here and all this Bull. So i said tomorrow its OUT. Well that night i left and i get a picture of the zinger hanging from ROPES from the top of his barn;(. I was mad becuase thats just wrong to treat my crap like that. So i get it the next day and i forgot about it. I just kinda laughed with him cause it was a joke afterall. So a day or so later i ride my dirtbike over there. It gets late and starts raining. I just told him hey i gotta get outta here but i cant ride home. Hes said ok just get it tomorrow. So i come back two days later cause the next day he told me i couldnt come get it cause he was busy. The bike was sitting outside and cold as an icecube. Im mad cause obviously he put it outside for a long period of time probally overnight:/. Now lets get to the good part. The bike had no gas in it.(When i left there that night the tank was near full.) I said what the heck and he said he needed gas. Luckily i brought gas so i go to put it in the tank and its rusted to heck.. Im like hmmm. So go to get the bike started and it wouldnt budge.. So i flip on him and both the kids that were with him. They wouldnt help me, they drained my gas, they left it outside! Then he locks me out of his barn! So i just say ok its on and i walk to his house to have a chat with his dad. His dad tells him to put the bike in the barn and not to touch it. I get my dad to pick me up and we leave. My dad gets home and gets anger at this SOB cause its his bike. So my dad gets my neighbors box truck and drives over there. Gets the bike and gives them a yell and scream.. Well school the next week i get a couple of people talking to me about the tank and stuff. Soon to find out one of them took a big old piss in my tank. Thats explains the dirty rust:(. Soo now i gotta do rust treatment in the tank and the bike dont run as good as it used too:/. I dont know what possesed who ever to pee in my tank cause i swear i never did anything out of line to piss these a holes off. But now i just wanna know whats a good way to treat rust in my tank?

rule #1 never leave your bike anywhere, rule #2 pic your friends wisely...when it comes to chics and money you are lucky to find one true friend. Real friends are hard to come by. As for urinating in your tank, these kids have some serious issues. If your tank was left empty for any amount of time that's prob what made the rust to start in, and Im sure the pee did not help anything. There are numerous kits you can use but I have always had good luck with apple cider vinegar. It works GREAT. Fill your tank up, let it set for about 24 hours, drain it. If it looks good rinse it with gas real good then fill it up. If the rust is bad you may need to repeat this process 2 or 3 times but it does work. Just make sure you fill it with has immediately when you get it to your liking. Good luck man, and remember....DO NOT LEAVE YOUR BIKE ANYWHERE FOR ANY REASON!

Red Kote works very well and is very easy to apply. $25 bucks for a quart and you could do at least 2 tanks with a quart. Just make sure the tank is completely dry, that is the single most important part to getting this stuff to work, I let mine sit over one of the heat registers for 5 days.

Lessons learned I hope. He is an ass hole, End of story, Forget he exists. Life is short, friends don't do this crap. Good news is,pour some plain ol vinegar in your cleaned tank. Check it every hour or so,,she'll be shiny new in no time. Keep gas in it with no urine and she should stay like new. Good luck !!

I've used "the works" toilet bowl cleaner with great results. You gotta be careful with it though, powerfull stuff.
Codyrosa has a good thread on here, I think it's called "the works vs rust". Great for really bad rust. If its only been a couple days you'll probably be fine with the apple cider vinegar.

found a fairly new product for this that I highly recommend. it is called metal rescue. wd-40 makes a similar product. anyways its a bio-degradeable water based product that works amazing. when trailprotrailpro done with it, it is safe to pour down the drain. research it on line there are many you-tube videos of people using this and it really works great. unfortunately it is like $20-30 a gallon jug but well worth it and it can be used multiple times. you need to buy enough to completely fill the tank to the top. i bought 3 gallons and have used it to clean 3 tanks and several other parts. i bought a 5 gallon bucket and lid so i could save the stuff. when you buy it its clear and the more you use it the blacker it gets. but it actually converts the rust back to clean shiny metal and absorbs the rust scale into the fluid. just fill the tank and leave it for 24-48 hours. and if you can add heat it works better. i just mean leave it in sun or under a heat lamp.

check it out for yourself and i would suggest trying it to anyone. the 67 Yamaha tank i used it on sat 30 years no fuel and heavily rusted. ended up looking good as new on inside.

THANK YOU for using punctuation. I was kind of expecting one big run on sentence. There may be hope for the next generation after all! LOL! :D

Hello Spentar

It looks like you have a few helpful, varied, and good suggestions by all but one of the posters above. I suggest you refer to post number 4 in particular, the vinegar is at least cheap easy to find and if it doesn't work then try the other suggestions mentioned. You must rinse these cleaning agents out thoroughly with water unfortunately, which in turn can cause your tank to instantly get some more surface rust so I suggest getting it dry as quickly as possible. One way I have heard how NOT to do this is to take one's sisters hair dryer and start drying it out ASAP using the lowest heat setting because one could either pass out from the gas fumes or the hot hairdryer coils ignite the gas fumes and they might blow up so instead of doing this I suggest it's just safer to simply put it in a warm dry place afterwards, lol.

PS

I suggest you pay no attention to those that feel a need to make unprovoked, unnecessary sarcastic remarks towards others that are clearly designed to incite, enrage, demean and belittle those whom they are aimed at. In my experience I have found these types of comments are ALWAYS made by imature people who are angry at others for some sort of perceived injustice done to them by others and are simply a sad attempt to get attention and make up themselves feel better by trying to cover up their own inferiority complex brought on by their own inadequacies. To any of those that try to defend these types of comments or the people that make them, I refer them to post #4. I am referring to to the posters gas tank cleaning suggestion, not the other comment.

WTF??? Seriously? Not looking to pick a fight here, but if falloutboy or others are going to have to tip toe around on eggshells they aren’t going to want to post or come here at all and that would make me and others (like our fine sponsors who continually appear on the header page of this site offering to assist me with my sexual needs) very unhappy. For the record the kid’s grammar sucks, but it’s a whole lot better than what we’re used to seeing here from some and that’s likely where the innocent comment came from. If he (FBoy) wanted to be malicious (like you seem to) he could easily have torn his post apart. Please chill out, be happy and back off, we don’t need a post morality leader on here, that's what the Mods are for.

First let me echo the comment of pick your friends wisely! Second, there are bullies everywhere and it seems that you were the one being bullied. I wouldn't seek revenge in this matter as it is petty, just learn from this.

I never noticed that rule on 3WW. I read your post last night and it took about 5 times longer then it should have for the number of words written. Punctuation used properly is crucial.

Sorry if I ruffled anyones feathers I was merely poking fun at the occasional posts that contain about hundred ideas and you cant tell where one statement ends and another questions begins it just makes it easier to read when the thoughts are separated i also apologize for my sometimes often spelling mistakes sometimes i get in a hurry and my sausage fingers hit an extra key and i dont fully read over my post.

As for your 'friend' It was a dick move. fix your ride and avoid the kid. To clean the rust out, the vinegar method should do just fine.

Hello Spentar

Let us know if you got the rust out and if so let us know what you used. If you have not done it yet and it is “scaly” you can also put some vinegar in it as another mentioned above but add a box of BB’s and shake it. These will help break up the heavy stuff. You might not want to do this with the other chemicals mentioned as they may get on your clothes and skin and be more irritating than the vinegar.

Hello Falloutboy

I was NOT going to make any more posts on here regarding the issue you are referring to but your newest post has prompted me to.

I’m gonna guess you might have just got a pm from someone other than me. If you did I had nothing to do with it. I did not “tattle” on you, it’s not my style. I am not perfect and no saint myself.

Your apology CLEARLY explains the first part of your post but that’s not what annoyed me. The problems I had were mainly 1. There was no suggestion to help Spentar in any way in your post only sarcasm. At least you could have tried to offer SOME sort of helpful suggestion along with your other comments. 2. Your comment, Quote “There may be hope for the next generation after all! LOL!”

He may not know you and can’t tell if comments like this are just made in fun or meant to be mean spirited. Not everyone has the same sense of humor that another might.

One more issue I personally have with you now that you have brought this issue back up is the fact that you have recently done this sort of thing to me on my R and D engineer post therefore you are establishing a pattern of this sort of behavior. I could care less what others think or say or post about me as some are beginning to realize. It is impossible to incite or enrage me by making any sort of negative comments about me. I just hope that they are at least a bit more creative than most I have seen. At least then they are funny instead of simply boring in my personal opinion.

“i also apologize for my sometimes often spelling mistakes sometimes i get in a hurry and my sausage fingers hit an extra key and i dont fully read over my post.”

I don’t care about “spellang” mistakes or others. It was never ever about that. Those that think it was CLEARLY missed my point.

Xxxxx

I do appreciate you for being mature enough for coming on here and posting an apology and even though I personally think it’s “lacking” a little sincerity I personally accept it. However this does not address your recent post on my Rand D topic but I’m not worried about that. Others can read those and form their own opinions. As you can see I have not replied to those or asked a mod to remove yours or the “others” and I never will. If you go to that post you can see my previous replies to others.

That almost sounds like bullying to me, but I understand the need for a statement like that, I just hope it won't be abused.... this is an open forum... and we are all 3 wheeler enthusiasts )... so, above everything, all BS aside... we ALL have something in common... even tho a lot of us have never met, I consider most on here friends... even though we don't have the same opinion. I'll cut this short as this isn't my thread... we should all tolerate a little shananigans... it just makes for a more interesting read sometimes.... sometimes I post meaningless crap too (by meaningless, I mean my opinion, even tho nobody asked for it), I hope i dont get banned for it.. :postwhore Sorry for so many "....." its my favorite punctuation

just to add a suggestion & keep in line with the thread, I would def go with the vinegar trick... cheap & non toxic.... and that's awesome; Parts!!! I love it when parts get delivered... It's like Christmas!!!

and Fabio... I read the whole post from Barnette, then yours.. and almost spit coffee all over the screen...lol
