So, the hubby is REALLY determined to find something special about his new toy.
Can anyone tell me about the super red, or any variations that the '83 200e may have come in. This bike would have been the predecessor to, or the original Big Red, correct?
From my understanding, and floundering around on Google, the Super Red was only released in Australia and New Zealand, and was a copy of the Big Red, but due to patent/copyright, had to be named the "Super Red"...
am I good so far?
He is one of those people who needs to know EVERY. LAST. DETAIL. about the things he buys.
aaaannnnndddd
since I am a research addict, and the people person of the relationship, I get to do all the legwork (and chat with you lovely people! :D)
If a bike is missing its stickers, how would you go finding out if your bike is a "Super" or not?
Or am I completely grasping at straws here (quite possible!)?
Thanks :)

The Super Red is the 1988 Honda 250es. You can look up the year and model on most ATC's on the steering neck there is a decal sticker and vin numbers stating that information. Some links below showing the Super Red.

This one is supposedly an 84

and a 200....If you do a Google search, there is apparently a whole pile in Australia area, which kind of goes with my "released only in Australia" thinking....
even if ours isn't anything special...learning about the history of these things is really interesting ;)

Welcome fellow Albertan! Here's a link to a brochure from the Home page. Hope it gives you the info you're looking for. http://www.3wheelerworld.com/content.php/265-ATC200E-Big-Red-ATC200ES-Big-Red

Yes...it's an '84, and has a front tire off of a 250 Big Red. Someone just went sticker happy on it and felt like making his machine more super, so he put some "super red" decals on it. It's a super machine, with or without the decals.

Why sad? It doesn't change what it is. It's an AWESOME MACHINE!! I had one brand new back in '84. We lived on a farm, and that thing was WORKED....every day. I used to pull trailers and wagons that were usually pulled by tractors. I could go through some very wet ,muddy areas, in low range, that were too soft for our tractor to go through without making a huge mess. It was a great machine and a wicked amount of fun too ! These things are legends...

Looks like someone here has some first-hand experience...so maybe you do have an australian "super red" indeed...also, do all the Canadian BRs have the reflector on the back rack? I know they all do on the headlight, just never seen that tab before for one on the rear

I believe, from reading a recent post on this forum, that Super Reds were an Australian only model, named so, due to a copyright issue with the name "big red" in Aus. They are 200ES 's.
