hello everyone i have a question regarding the counterbalance on 85 and on motors. does the bearing have play from side to side and front to back mine does but just a little. there is no visible damage to it or the case and it does spin freely out of the case.i wanted to know if i should replace or is it fine. and if i do need to replace does anyone know of a company that they have had dealings with to replace the bearing. thank you for your time.

should be ZERO play in the counterbalancer bearing. I just had mine rebuilt by BDT motorsports. They do great work and they turn work around very quickly.

X2 on what Yeager said...
No play or slop of any kind. BDT does them, so does ESR.
And may I suggest replacing your old OEM cast CB carrier on the stator side of the engine. It is the little housing that carries the stator side of the CB. That 27 year old cast CB carrier can fail due to age and fatigue. And if it does, your bottom end will suffer!
ESR carries new billet CB carriers. I would wager BDT Motorsports does as well.
