View Full Version : 1983 cr60r rebuild. parts? tips? help me out guys

so im rebuilding this thing... what a headache. other than scouring ebay for parts, does anyone know of any parts that are interchangeable with any other cr's of that era? or maybe aftermarket parts that I don't know about? Im really hoping to find someone with experience working with these bikes. all help is appreciated and ill take all that I can get. what im most worried about is suspension, piston/rings, head gasket, and getting the seat redone. its not going to be an nos restoration, but it is going to look like a new bike that has been somewhat modified for a grown trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro man to play around on it. haha

Holy crap, where have you been hiding?
The CR60s were only a 2 year run,parts are gonna be scarce.
I toyed with the idea of getting one a couple 4 years ago, but didn't.
What does the bike need?

I have a pretty nice one but it needs a pick up coil. I read they are the same as a CR80 so I bought one of those. The brackets are different, I planned on modding the brackets to work but haven't gotten around to it.

whats up brian!? haha ive been in my own little world... it needs crank n rod bearings, rings, head gasket, and maybe some suspension mods, high rise bars, foot pegs, and I need to learn how to restore the plastic fuel tank. I have it all torn apart, gonna paint the frame and everything. I love the little thing, its fun as hell, I just wanna get it back together. so how have you been man? and yea blown331, ive heard there are a few parts interchangeable with the 80, just not sure what all they are. I think maybe the front fork

Suspension and seat can be reworked. Someone must make a piston kit and Vesrah gaskets I imagine.

I had one of those when I was 15yo and it was a BLAST to ride; Very quick if your a light person.

I love old Hondas' !!!!!!!!!
