since i have my 86 350x done im gonna mess with the 200x again

i have 350x triple tree, forks, brake setup i was gona use 200x hub and wheel they measure the same should work

i need to know if any gooseneck mods are required? or if there is a swap thread with picts

i know how to swap them but reason i ask is if any grinding of fork stop is required or is it a direct bolt on swap.

please reply thanks

I'm not sure about the 200X hub and wheel in the 350X forks

You will need to cut off the stock 200X fork stops and weld a new fork stop in the front of steering neck.

Here are some old threads about the project, check over at .org there are a couple of threads over there too.

i put a 350 front on my 83 200x, just grind the stop off and thats all, the 200x hub is bigger - wont fit so keep the 350 hub. the stock 200x shocks are pretty good tho

no one listens. 83-85 atc200x hub, front rim, axle and front caliper is the same as 83-84 atc250r. 86-87 atc200x front rim, hub is the same as 85-86 atc350x.

honestly the best and cheapest way to gain more travel is have 200X tripples bored like i did for 35mm forks. then you simple just replace your forks with longer bigger dia forks. bolt all you stock stuff on and go ride.

But hey, who wants to listen to the guy who has done it and posted pics to prove it works. Ands its all forsale too!

I may be wrong, but I thought as long as you keep the hub and rims to match, you could swap the entire 350x axle/hub/rim out with a 200X complete or a 250r complete setup. Just cant mix match the hub and rims because they are different bolt patterns.

The difference is in the lug nuts/stud length. 200x uses flat(short studs) and 350x uses tapered (long studs)... my 350x had a 200x hub/wheel on it when I bought it.

It's not that people don't listen, there are too many parts so the questions come up again and again. Of course a notebook would help, but many of us go by memory alone.

IDT you need 350X forks. 200X forks with progressive springs and the right oil for your weight (some of us are 150lbs or 250lbs).

If your gonna add an 800$ custom shock, then the 350X suspension would be a nice compliment. Other than 200X forks bending easily (not my fault people clock trees or land the an endo on the 200X) then the forks are just fine being rebuilt and a thicker oil. I am 220lbs so I run 20 wt. but the progressive springs were the best improvement.

Does the 83-85 200x axle have different threads than the 86-87? I'm just wondering because I just got a 250sx with 200x forks, that look like they're 83-85, but it's got a 350x, or 86-87 200x, front hub and the threads on the axle are too fine.
