Klt police what are they worth

What would be a fair price for a klt250 police the one im trying to get from a guy i work with has a cut rear fender with no mud flaps, the plastics are not cracked but have bad sun damage and seat is riped. It runs but needs tune up and tires are good has all papers for it. Just want to get an idea of what this one would be worth.

Without pics, there is no telling. I have personally know where a mint one is, but the member does not want it disclosed. I have seen them sell for $700-1500 in unrestored condition.

Unfortunately I can’t be much help but just wanted to mainly say it’s a cool find.

Those are actually quite rare however if it does not have all the orig police parts like red lite, billy club holder and police paperwork showing it was an original police bike etc I don’t think it’s worth much more than just a std one unfortunately.

I don’t think we sold that many of those. I remember seeing them in action on the beach at Huntington Beach pier in So Calif, lol.

Need more info and photos on police paper work and condition of bike to best estimate value.

If you go to klt group there is a pic of it there. It has the pursuit light with amber lense that is required when decomissioning a police vehicle. All papers show it was a lapd trike. It doesnt have club holder.

The guy came down too 1300 i came up from 950 to 1150 but he wont go any lower. I just wanted to see if 1300 was too High or reasonable.

Thanks for the link and photos. Hey the guy on ebay says he sold his restored one for $8k and wants $2k more than his minimum $8k bid requirement or he won't sell this one. I would think that since he seems to love them so much and "'claims" he got $8k for one he might be happy to give you at least $2500 or more for yours. Send him an email thru ebay and ask, tell him $3800 and see who knows?

Yours is not beat so bad, if it runs and shifts ok doesn't sound too pricey to me but again it's a novelty so don't count on a profit.

Im not looking to sell it when i get it. I work for lapd and it will be fun to do minor restore and show it in special events. Its funny i walked into work yesterday and saw a 1986-87 bigred and 250sx sitting in the motorcycle area i asked if they are getting rid of them. They said no they still use them at the stables. So there are still 3wheelers working for big cities.
