hey guys its been a while but i got this new 84 200x and it needed a new front end so long story short i had a parts bike swaped front ends thought i was set. Unnnntiilll i tried starting it , its getting gas has awsome compression and has amazing spark and all it does is pop and shoot flame out the carb so i thought maybe the carb needed rebuilding so i took it off and i took the carb off my other running 200x and it does the same thing, i used to be good at timing 200x engines but havnt done it in a while could someone help me out? thanks!

T on the flywheel, O on the cam sprocket lined up to the arrow on the head. But search a little and you'll find a manual. Try adjusting your valves first, but you are right, you are more than likely out of time.

Hello
Sounds like cam timing as mentioned above. If your cam timing is off then either your chain is stretched, chain guide is excessively warn and/or your chain tensioner is bad. If you do not fix the other problem it will jump time again. If it is cam timing and you fix it and it still "pops" while running you have a bent valve caused the improper cam timing. I posted a free manual link for ypu below, now you don't have to look for one. Just click on the blue string.

Hope this info helps
