Hey guys how's it going. So the other day I got a pretty good deal on a tecate 4. It was a parts bike. I have my tecate 4 but Ive always wanted to get a core engine to build it as an extra. So Im deciding whether to put it into the t-4 or search the face of the planet for a 2nd gen t-3. I've tore it down to as far as possible as I could, but I lost my flywheel puller, crankcase splitter, and my clutch holder. Does anyone have some extras they don't need? And if so how much. Not looking to spend retail price but ill consider anything.

What options are there as far as high performance.

-top end (big bore, port and polish, power valves, reeds, domes, heads)
-crank(stroker, trued)
-transmission and clutch(baskets)

This is probably going to be a slow build. And I wanted to collect as much info as I could.

Here are some pics of the motor. it looks pretty beat up. Does anyone know what other flywheel fits. Maybe a mojave or a kx? :wondering

Thats a beatass up t4 motor... lol
I cant believe you can see the rust on the flywheel where the water was sitting cause of a smoked gasket! Ive never owned aT4, but I know 3 of my T3s run SPROCK RACING 300 kits in them. Cory makes some fast tecates 3s and 4s!

Lol. It was actually sitting outside, prone to water :(
but for the price i got it, i cant complain lol, it should be completely checked and all new bearings and seals.
I was seeing if i could find some billet powervalves. anyone have any ideas

And i have checked on those kits. Maybe ill test one out lol.

Well the issue you will have beside finding a doner t3 is that the t4 engine will not fit in the frame without some major fabrication.

I know, I would make my own motor mounts. I would like to see how a 6 speed, counter balanced t3 would perform.

It's bit more than motor mounts. the engine won't fit in the cradle because of the counter balancer.

Mhm. Darn. I wouldn't mind having to cut, weld, and gusset to make it happen. But as of now, I want to just build the motor, then ill think of what to do.
