I picked up an atc 90 for parts at TF11 and it has been sitting in the garage collecting dust until a few weeks ago. It had no rear fenders or tank and the brakes were locked up. Other than that it looked pretty good.
Well I decided to put it back together rather than see it get stripped down. I had some rear fenders and a tank for my Bandito project so I am going to use them on this one and get it back together again. I ordered a bunch of parts for it from work and a set of rear tires from ebay.
It had clothesline for a pull rope and what looked to be part of a pillowcase for an air filter. The forks are bent but I have a set from a 110 I'll use on it. So some time next week I hope to have everything I'll need to make it live again.
I know .... X owner

First I want to get it running again and I'll go from there. The rear fenders and seat that are going on it are pretty nice. The tank is awesome. I think with a little cleaning the rest of it will look pretty presentable. Here's a couple pictures of the fenders and seat. I'll have to dig the tank out and get pictures of it. It's a red US90 tank with the Honda script on the sides.

If you are going to TF this year and want to drag it along with you, I would be interested. I only own the horizontal engined Honda's, so it would fit right in. Let me know.

I still have it too. I have an early 110 engine for it. I'm still working on getting the stuff to do it right.
I almost sold off everything last summer. I moved in with my girlfriend right after TF11. All of my parts etc. got put in totes and ended up here, there and everywhere. Shortly after I moved in with her she started having heart problems. Then September 1st 2012 she had a massive heart attack and didn't survive. I didn't do anything at all for a few months. I didn't even touch a threewheeler after TF11 until mid November 2012.
Well I've finally started to get things sorted out, rounded up and organized and decided that I will try to gather up the rest of the things I need to do the Bandito right and make a winter project out of it. The weather's too nice to be working on big projects indoors. I also have some riding to catch up on. I will get the Bandito done and I will keep everyone updated on it's progress.

That looks like they started with a US 90 frame but they didn't use much else from it. It looks like they used an early 110 for fenders and seat and possibly the engine. The fuel tank is from a first generation 250r. The tanks on the 90s seemed prone to rust out. It's hard to find one that's rust free.
I think I'll pass on this one.

Ok I love the fact that the 90 I brought you is going to actually live again. Let me know if I can help pick up that 70 us90. I can grab it for you on the way. My transport fee's are pretty expensive though(box of little debs)
Really glad your coming this year!

Thanks, man , but I don't think I want it. If it was a little more original I would be interested. I can still bring you a box of little debs though. What kind do you like?
I was looking at what I had already picked up for my Bandito project and decided that the few things I needed from the 90 to finish it wouldn't be worth wasting a decent machine for. I still need those parts I talked to you about though.

Thanks Jason. I don't think it will be necessary this year. I will be trying to talk you out of a few things you have in the barn while we're there though.

The seat was in good shape, it just needed a good cleaning. I painted the fenders with lacquer so they would just have that low gloss finish. I'll get a picture of the tank here soon.

Ok I have a picture of the tank. I decided to use this one because when I build the Bandito I will no doubt be putting a custom paint job on it and I have another tank that needs to be painted. This one is all original and even though it isn't going to be correct for a 77 atc 90 I just couldn't see molesting it.

Sorry about your loss. Nice work on the glass, it doesn't hurt being a 1st class bodyman when it time for projects like this one. Hey, is your son still out here in my neck of the sticks? Tried to reach him a while back to see if he was interested in some sand drag action in Alb.

No, things didn't work out for him out there. He ended up coming back here this winter. He'd like to go back out again sometime but he isn't sure when. His 300r drag bike is in my garage. It's still ready to do business. There isn't anyplace close around here to drag race anymore. The way he has it set up, it isn't good for much else.

What kind of parts are you looking for yet? I have a few machines that I bought as basket cases to part out and a 78 tank if you want to make it year correct, little surface rust on the bottom of the tank and inside isn't pretty. The rest is in pretty nice shape though.

I have everything that I know of for this one. I will still need a few things for my Bandito build. I'll know more about that after Trikefest. You never know what you might bring home from there.

I haven't had as much time to work on the 90 as I would like lately. I have made a little progress though. I got the brakes freed up and the axle out. The brake actuator was rusted in the on position when I picked it up. Replaced brake shoes and checked bearings and seals, lubed things up and put it back together. It's sitting back on all three again. I picked up a bunch of parts for it over the last few weeks and picked up another 77 p.o.s. 90 donor over the weekend. It is a REAL basket case. The kid I got it from said it didn't have spark and needed new rings. :wondering HOLY CRAP BATMAN!!! The cylinder looked great to me. It was on the stock bore and had no ridge or signs of wear on the cylinder. The tank looks ok, no leaks and it isn't caved in. The tail light looks great and the front fender is in one piece, unlike the rears. It even has the toolbox!!! But the rest of it is a pile.

IT LIVES!!! :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:

Between the parts I bought for it at work and a few things that I took from the POS 90, I brought this one back to life. Today I rebuilt the carb took the points assembly and a spark plug from the pos. It came with two new ones. After setting the points and timing and adjusting the valves I gave it a small shot of starting fluid. It fired on the second pull. Sounded pretty quiet. I need to clean the pos tank and then I'll see how well it runs and rides. I decided to put the pos tank on it instead of my US90 tank. I still need to paint the forks I picked up for it and I'm also going to paint a couple wheels for the back to go with the new rear tires. It looks like it will make it back to TF, only this time it will be running.:beer:Bounce

I have pics and a video from today!!! The first picture I'm rubbing the tank saying "you can do it".
The next one is the first time I started it after I got it all together. I just fine tuned the carb and went and got my helmet so I could take it for a test ride. That's what the video is. It runs pretty good. I will check the clutch adjustment and try to get the tail light to work. I had to take the fender off because the forks are bent so bad, I could barely steer it. It has so much caster that it just wants to go straight. I have some forks, that were spray painted black, at work that I'll paint red to finish it off.
