Went to town cleaning it and mod'ing it. Im a paraplegic so i had to make some changes. Foot plates for my feet to stay where they should, jockey shifter, and some powermadds to start.

Well, i got it going last night. The carb needed a cleaning. it was pretty bad, but nothing like the mouse house i found in the air box! it was packed full of grass clippings. Went to get a new filter and they ordered the wrong part. so i just bought one for a grizzly (i think) and trimmed it down. worked great. Put a new plug in it too.

I had to take 2 carbs and make one good one. Worked well except i guess i put the dirty low speed jet in it. had to take it all back apart to get it to start. Runs great now! the shifter works well too. I kinda adds a little excitement when you are slamming throught the gears driving one handed. im looking into doing a headlight mod. Going to try and make this bulb fit the current light fixture.

i want to stay at or below 45watts because thats what the stocker is. Ill keep you posted on that. i also put an LED bulb in the tail light for a little added light. I might swap the wires around so the bulb lights up like it was in the brake light mode. Thats all for now... more next week.

Nothing should stop a guy from enjoying his hobbies...

I got a buddy, also a paraplegic, but watch that guy rig himself up and climb onto his sled..let's just say no one calls Terry disabled..

He rides better than I do!

I'll show him your work when you're done..might get him inspired to consider triking with me.

I look forward to seeing your rig all done..some powdercoat on all that new metal sure would look nice! Sure am glad you made the screen go away..that looked just weird!

I just checked out your sled build up, awesome job. You seem to get out and about quite well, you should be a counselor for other injured people to show them just what you can do. There are so many people that get hurt and just let their life go down the crapper. Again nice job on the trike and the sled. Where there's a will and a welder, there's a way.

So I decided to tackle the headlight upgrade tonight. I took an old snowmobile headlight that had broken tabs but was otherwise in good shape. All i needed was the round part that the bulb mounts to anyway.

I went and cut the back of it off and trimmed it with some snips.

I took some good silicone calk and put in in the center of the existing light housing and let it start to set up. Checked that the bulb would fit and went on to the wiring.

there was a little calk i had to wipe off of the bulb on the inside and also clean it up a bit, but nothing too bad.
I took the plug that matched the bulb (also from the sled wiring harnes) and soldered in some connectors. You could just solider the connection to the existing wiring, but i wanted to option to go back to stock if i ever wanted to.

Be sure to check for clearances when you put the metal subframe back on the plastic fairing. It has to be slid up a touch for the rubber boot to clear.

Here is what the finished backside looks like. Im waiting for it to dry before i mount it back up and try it out. I did try it quick to test the wiring but that was it. Im also going to order my 45/45w bulbs toinght. I dont want to run the 55-65w bulbs because i dont watn to over power the stator and burn it up. Ill post the bulbs in a later link.
