I'm looking at getting either a Honda Fourtrax 300 4x4 or a Yamaha Big Bear 350 4x4 (early style with low gear). I ride in alot of mud with my 83 185s with my friends and its been keepin up pretty good with my friends but I'm wearing it out quick. I want to know what would be better for me. I'm wanting to run 26/27 tall tires and would like to know what would be best for me at stock without any mods. What has more power better 4x4 and I know there both tanks. Just want to know what turn the tires better without regearing.

Hands down the Honda. Will never let you down. I can't stand those 350 big bears. You can run 26's easily on a completely stock 300, i'm not sure about the 27's as I have never tried.

I have had the pleasure of getting a ton of seat time on both machines and like the Honda better. Reliability between the two is about equal and the same for power but the Honda has better ergonomics and looks better. The Yamaha does have a low range which is nice when you are running big tires and get into some really thick mud. You can't go wrong with either choice though.
