View Full Version : 86 350X Should I purchase?

I am rebuilding a 85 350X. It needs exhaust, tires, chain and sprockets, foot pegs, gas tank is so so, rear brakes, also found a crack in the frame although nothing major. Motor seems good. Time will tell. I found a 86 350X with a bad motor and bad plastic, but he says everything else is in decent shape. I will be getting pics from him on Thursday night. He is firm on $1000. I have to order my parts on ebay so at $ 1000 maybe its not a bad deal? We both have to travel 4hrs to meet. I like the idea of a complete parts bike or maybe it might be better to put my plastic and motor on that bike? I find it hard to spend $1000 on a roller though. The pic is my 85.

A 350x with a bad motor and plastic is a $400 part trike in my area..

I won't tell you you're crazy, but if you lived near me you be in a straight jacket!!

But then I've heard that BC trikes are crazy expensive!!

Yeah! Thats how I feel. But guys are asking $3000 and up for the few that show up around here and the cost of part and shipping from ebay really add up.

Also Doug it makes it harder for me to buy any trikes after the screaming deal you got on the weekend! (lol)

ok granted areas have different prices but i got mine with good plastics and a good motor for $920. all i had to do to get it running was clean the carb.

You guys are right. I was excited about the possibilty of picking up another 350X, but I just can't put out 1000$ on a trike that needs that much work. Prices are crazy in my area but that is out of hand.

It sucks prices are so much higher where you are. There is an 86 350x on our local Craigslist for $1,800 and it's in good condition but it has been on there for about two months, so the seller may take less. I really want the thing for myself but don't have the money.
