I'll be trading my blaster for a tri-z soon, and I was wondering how I would get the title of my blaster transferred to the new owner, my dad says you need to take it to a notary of the public, but I just thought that you signed it off to the new owner or something? Has anyone done this before?

So you take the title paper, and sign it off to the new owner?

You MUST get the title notorized to be legal. I go to my bank and they do this FREE. That is right , FREE. Why take the chance of having to pay to get a new title and do it right the second time around.

I just sold a 400ex frame with Title on Ebay. The title was sent out Friday. ;)

You wouldn't do that in Ohio. I once took a title in without it being noterized and they stamped VOID on it. It took me 2 months to get the title straightened out.

So what you are saying is when the guy comes here, have him sign the title, take it to the bank to get notorized, and then send it to him?

In New York, You go to DMV and get a form that the owner and the previous owner sign and fill out and its a done deal.

In Ohio, The person "Selling" the item must sign the Title infront of the Notory for it to be legal. The person buying it doesn't have to be present. Once signed and Notorized it can be handed or sent to the buyer.

TriZPilot - I would suggest asking someone who lives in Pa. or simply call the Pa. Dept of motor vehicles. Titles are handled by the state, so the procedure in any other state has no bearing on your state's procedure.

state to state varies.. but pa requires you do have a notarized bill/title, maryland you can just sign and go!
