I'm building an 86 tri-z. On the lower tripples there are the 2 studs with the rubber grommets on them. How are those studs held in place? i thought they were pressed in, but mine keep falling put and keep coming loose.
Has anyone else come across this? Any suggestions? Maybe use epoxy?

They are just pressed in. I would either tap them and put studs in or set them in with red Loctite. You could also knurl them with a chisel a little and pound them in along with the Loctite.

Mine popped out too. I put them in the hole during powder coating, then silicone them in afterwards. Haven't had a chance to beat on them yet, so not sure if it holds up. They do appear pressed though, so a new one may require the pressing, but my old ones were easily tapped back in the hole with a hammer.

Ya. Thats the thing. I pressed them in and banged them in, and they keep popping out.
I will try some loctite.
