I've been researching for a few months now and im finally down to these two
Maybe We can have a vote? lol
I like the Mud Lite for the weight but they just don't look right on a trike in my opinion!
I think the bear claws look bad ass and i hear they are an excellent all around tire but i hear the same of the mud lites. But i also hear the claws are heavy!

What do you guys think?
Also they are going on a 250es!

Id go for bear claws, but really it depends on what type of riding you do, for deep mud, mud lites, for normal riding and occasional wet dirt bear claws. its just my opinion, some people may say the complete opposite.
If you want the ultimate tire: http://goo.gl/cUABp :lol::lol::lol:

nah, just go with some trail pros! ha seriously though, I had claws on my 85 es, and they were excellent. yes they are a bit heavy, but with the way the es is geared you wont have any issues. definitely go with the claws. let me see if I can find a pic of it

Well i've heard the weight and loss of torque and i guess the question is how much. it is a trail machines not a racer!
I wish rocky mountain had the bear claws in a 12 width for 26s i currently have a 13 inch width and i dont want to lose anything!

Here is a pic of mine with the mudlites on. Never had bear claws but have no complaints about these. Had it out memorial day wkd trail riding and some were very rocky trails. No complaints on how they performed.

I only have experience with Mud Lites and they worked great but they were on a 4x4 quad.

I have machines with both these tires..both are great.

But I'd have to give the Bear Claws and slight edge..

Bear Claws 9/10
Mudlites 8/10

I have bear claws on my 200es and they are awesome, but I just went with these executioners for my 250es and its ridiculously unstoppable. It will lift the front end before it will spin. I just wish I went with 10" rims and 25" tires instead of 12" and 26's, just cuz I think it looks weird now...

Bear Claws have slightly more side wall tread which does make a difference. I've ridden on both and both are great, but the Bear Claws have my $

Some guys like that sport front end on the BR..I think they all look weird personally!

If you kept your front end stock and used that same 12" rim and thinner Executioner on the front it would have turned it from weird to badaZZ!!

This is my brothers trike we setup similarly to you.

(though we did use 25" to keep the weight down a bit)..

Xela, you might like this setup..we got all everything from Rocky Mountain ATV. Rims, tires, caps, nuts..the whole thing was just under $400 shipped to the door and direct bolt on! Ask and I'll send the details in a PM

Incredible mud trike now..definitely beats the Mudlites and Bear Claws hands down..

Doug, Kebby
i ve kindof been considering the executioners as well in a 26 inch height i want more ground clearance but i've read the they run pretty small, also i agree the sport front end does look a little weird. I have the same front wheel as your back in black 250es and i have my 12inch itp steelies sitting in the garage just waiting to pull the trigger on some tires for them bad boys and i think my focus has moved to the executioners in a 26x12x12 i get the torque robbing thing but i dont spend much time racing on big red!

They are a heavy tire, but just the same, you wont be disappointed..and yes they do run small compared to other tires..

A good fit, but thank god for the rear suspension on the 250ES..not alot of give in those tires. No matter what pressure you run!!

Nice set up! I bet he loves the tires. I really like my 350x front. Very comfortable. I'll figure something out to un-weird it. But first I have to get the plastics and side covers. That will help...

I let the bead set and then drained it down to about 0. Major difference

i dont know what it is i just like to have about 10 on each side or so. i just dont like soft tires! just enough air o keep the tread nice and flat across the tire

I scored 3 85 / 86 200s front ends off here and ebay. At one point I had two 125m's for conversions. I did the first one and the frame snapped. Now it's a pile parts. The one pictured is my rider. But needing work.

Never owned either one, but of what I have read and seen I would go with bear claws too.

If you don't mind side to side sliding in trails, these are great mud tires, just hopefully your axle can handle it not spinning. Had these on a 1999 350 warrior, and it would go though more mud than any local 4x4 would.... granted none of them had super agressive tires. The only time it got stuck was when my dad owned it and passed out on it after falling though the ice in winter time. I personally drove it though a snow drift that was around 5 foot deep, it was snow blowed after about 3 attempts up the hill 2nd gear right to the wood... and now I wonder why that machine smokes and has a grumbling transmission :D.

Even with just about all the air let out, no give! I got on the railroad tracks yesterday and tried to get up to speed.... I think my spine shattered into a million pieces

I heard that!!

Tell you what, I've been experimenting with alternate rear shocks for the ES to soften it for my old back on those rough rides..if I find one that does the job I'll let you know.

Been toying with the idea of a 250X/300EX shock

That seems to be the problem with most modern atv tires, very stiff side walls.

Funny thing is... I went to install my 250x shock in my 250sx that I had the rear end out of..... and couldn't find the shock! The eyelets are worn pretty bad on the OEM one, so the 250x one would be a nice fit. As soon as I come across it I'm throwing it in :D. If all works out well you should be able to modify one to fir the big red fairly easy.
