My dad started on this project probably 10 years ago. Bought the blaster roller frame for around $350, too much into the rears, and like $75 for each font tire/rim. He custom built the gas tank because the plastic blaster one sat under the frame line which interfered with the engine. He moved the swing arm back quite a ways (like 5 inches).

The engine I believe was off an TX500 Yamaha road bike from back in the 70s. Double overhead cams, 4 valves per cyl, twin cyl. Factory specs is around 49hp :).

Anyway, a couple of years ago my dad needed money so he sold me it, and I haven't touched it yet lol. All that needs to be done is run the exhaust pipes and wiring, and air box setup. Have to find the box of parts for the twist throttle etc yet too. Most likely will need a new set of sprockets right away because the factory gearing is probably really high for this engine with the over sized tires and such.

Enjoy the photos.... some day I might finish it up! If you are wondering, the rear tires are the original Outlaws made by Highlifter... a true 28 inch tire, front tires I think are the factory front tires off of a grizzly. My dad's goal was to make the blaster "look" factory at first glance. To work on the engine, the entire engine cradle drops out of the frame :D.

That's is awesome! I can only imagine how that thing would run! I hope you end up getting to it someday, it definitely would be worth it :)

Yea.. little bit of a back story on that engine. Guy my dad knew gave him the bike, I think he wrecked it or something. Anyway, it sat outside for years more or less deemed for the scrap yard. For some reason my dad cut the engine out of the frame, and then tried to see if the engine was locked up. He couldn't move it with the kick starter so he figured it was locked up. Poped the spark plugs out, sprayed lube in and still nothing, so he grabbed a battery and jumped the starter... rolled over just fine lol.

I have heard this engine run before, and it sounded great. I know the carbs will need to be cleaned too, it sat with gas in them.

I plan to some time, but currently have like 18 3 wheelers to deal with (web store / fix + resell etc).

I have photos of another project my dad started and then I bought it around the same time (he was laid off for over a year). He called it a "quad-z" since it was a tri-z, sadly the machine was pretty trashed and I ended up parting it out here. He is pretty handy at welding :). I should go find the old 3 wheeler he built from the old POS 5hp one he bought me ages ago and the 370 enduro front end. I didn't ride it much because I was really young, but he said when the carb was working right, you couldn't keep the front wheel on the ground.

I can post photos when I get home :)
