1986 and 87 Honda 125M has electric start, reverse, and a bulletproof motor. They are hard to beat. And even harder to find.
I would avoid Suzuki. They push into turns and handle like turds.
The little Yamahas are quick and fun. I haven't ridden a small Kawi in a very long time, so I can't speak to them.

Hello
As far as 110’s go the Kawi is king by far, whatever that means in a 110 cc bike, lol. It has more power than the others and corners xlnt. 125’s are a different world. I have never ridden any of them but I know Hondas make good bikes.

Hondas 125's for sure! The first gen with high / low is my favourite. In low it has tons of torque, in high it has tons of speed.
My name on here isn't Jason 125m for nothing!!

Jonathan aka Thestud whipped the crap out of us right out of the gate last year at trike fest on his Kawasaki 110. I was on a honda 185 and another guy was on a 200m honda. We probably could have had a one lap start on him and he still would have taken 1st. So for speed those ill boogers got it.

That’s cool to hear. Kawi Japan’s goal with this bike was to stomp the Honda 110. Although I was all for that I wondered why they were trying to do it in the 110 cc class too, lol. We never compared it to a Honda but they apparently knew by the dyno numbers it would easily do that in the engine dept anyway.
When I tested the prototype, Kawi sent over around 4 engineers just for this project. That was unheard of for a kid’s bike. The biggest problems we had were trying to get the auto and manual clutch to function properly, heavy shift feel, clutch slippage and running hot.
I ran it at Saddleback in the summer at 100 degrees on the TT track at WOT and it got so hot it boiled the oil. You could literally hear it. They said well we can’t fix it here so go try to blow it up along with the clutch. It never happened. They did a change in design in Japan to improve the hot condition for the production model.
I probably shifted that thing well over 5000 times at WOT and never had a problem.
Everyone at R and D that went for a test ride laughed their ___ off because it was so fast for a 110 and if I remember right the target age group was around 8-14, lol. If you ever get a chance to ride one of these that hasn’t been beat you gotta try it. The 110 quads are a blast too.
If you put a regular non spark arrestor muffler on it, 2 mm larger Mikuni or any carb, advance the ignition timing 2-4 degrees, put some holes in the air box and run 110 race gas to eliminate detonation it will probably flip over backwards when you speed shift it at around 9000 RPM, lol.

Oh yeah! The KLT’s were the only atv’s Kawi had when I started. I rode all sizes. Spent 5 hours a day in a rocky 2’ deep near freezing stream doing a water test for a week straight. Pulled the optional Kawi trailer around for a week with 300 lbs of dirt, did a truck pull test where we pulled the shop the length of the shop and timed it against 1 of the Hondas. The Honda barely move it, lol. Had to do a 1000 cycle fwd/reverse test to see if reverse would break but no luck, lol.

Well, personally, I think any 110 is too small for going uphill in the dunes. The dunes are a real power soaker. I personally would suggest a 185 anything or larger. That being said the KLT went up moderately steep hard packed hills with me and tried to loop out then I speed shifted it, lol. If you geared the KLT appropriately it could up moderately steep dunes with a light rider easily.
Keep it clean and on topic!!Howdy
